“I’m telling you Ursa, that’s what the boy wants.”

“That’s none since Grubbi, Buddi doesn’t want or need that!” I could hear the two arguing as I walked into the halls, we had stayed the night one more time, and after dinner we would be heading home again. I heard the two talking again.

“Ursa, you are his mother NOT his adopted anything! You’ve been the one who’ve raised him, seeing to his every need. You ARE his mother.”

“Grubbi, I do what I have to.”

“I know what it is your afraid, that if you let him call you Mom that he’ll be to close, News flash, whether or not you see it, you’ve already done that every since he was little, you’ve always rushed to his side to tend to what ever need he had, When he was a baby you were up with his every cry, then as he got older you’ve been there for his every fall, and I’ve heard you myself claim him as YOUR BOY! Not ‘MY ADOPTED BOY! In several battles that had him involved.” I watched quietly as the two talked, Ursa looked ready to spit fire if she could as the healer talked to her.

“How dare you talk to me like this, telling me how to raise my,… Buddi!”

“There you did it again, Ursa you started to say my son, but you changed it at the last second.”

“You’re the one that’s started the Mamma Ursa, because YOU didn’t want him to call you anything else, and now, he thinks he’s being weak if he calls you Mamma Ursa at this age,”  Ursa not being able to say anything glared even harder at Grubbi,

“When Ola asked you to take over raising Buddi in her place, and you said you would, but you haven’t totally done that. What she meant was for him to know that you are his mother. Nothing else. Also he does everything he can to impress you so that you will look on him as your son, not like the way you act as you do. Like he‘s second hand.” They stopped hearing Ryo dragging Buddi in. He was yelling at the top of his lungs for him to let him go, he had to keep training.

“Put me down you Nisha!”

“Buddi Barbic you watch your mouth.” I heard Ursa scold, but he didn’t hear her, he kept on going on, She then got a little more of a close up seeing how beat up he was. I was myself, he had cuts all over his body, as well as bruises and his clothes were torn into shreds.

“What happened?”

“I caught him in the training hall using the adult training tools!” Ryo told her as she took the cub from him. Buddi was still saying work harder, impress Ursa, maybe she’d love me more.

“Buddi, I’m here,” She said looking at Grubbi who had a smirk on his face at that moment,

“Point taken,” She snapped. Then turned back to Buddi, he was still fighting everything that came near him, almost as if he didn’t know where he was anymore. Ursa called to the cub, again.

“Buddi, calm down! I’m here; I just want to know what happened.” She never got an answer since Grubbi used a sedative to know him out. As I stayed around the corner out of sight, I could hear Ursa talking to her cub, low enough she didn’t think anyone could hear. I know Grubbi’s words had sunk in at that moment from the way she was talking to the now unconscious boy.

“Don’t worry, Son, I’m here. I won’t leave you.”
