"Let me show you
how," Timmy said to Buddi and Cubbi as they looked at Timmy's invention.
"You hit this button,
then these switches. The robot will do anything you want it to." He told
them, "I use it to get my chores done so I can go play; it'll do it the whole
time that I'm gone, and they never know that I didn't do it myself.”
"Uci-tan sycan-casa!"
"Kennie! What
are you doing here! You’re supposed to be with the other girls!"
"I be
with you!"
"No, you can't now; get
out of here!" He said, shoving the girl out of the room of the barn they were
in. As she was heading back to the
others, Buddi glared at the younger Barbic cub.
"Why'd you do
that?" Buddi asked.
"She's a pest."
"You’re a Barbic, and
you’re not supposed to lash out at another Barbic," He said, then covered
his mouth,
"I sound like
Ursa!" Buddi declared, with his hand over his mouth. Cubbi nodded in
agreement, "You’re not supposed to agree with me!" They all turned to see the door open and Ursa
standing there,
"Boys, what’s going
on?"
"The two of us didn't do
anything; it was all him, I was just telling him how he should be treating her,
not like he was." She nodded, taking Timmy by his arm out the room.
"I have one word for
that guy," Buddi whispered.
"Ouch!" Cubbi
nodded in agreement but didn't answer. He was too busy looking at the
contraption.
"You know that kid's got
something. Maybe he could come up with something that would be able to take
your place while you train."
"As wonderful as that
idea seems, do you realize how much trouble I would be in? Besides Ursa's not
dumb." Buddi told him.
"Mamma!"
"What Timmy?" I
answered, as I turned to see him running as fast as he could to me. He was also
rubbing his backside with tears running down his cheeks,
"She hit me!" He
whined, pointing over towards the direction that he had come.
"Good, then I guess it's
my turn." I stated, "I know what you did to your sister. And you know
I DON'T approve of it." I said, reaching for him. He backed up.
"No more! I'm
sorry!"
"Are you now? Or is it
you’re sorry you got told on?"
"I'm just sorry."
He said, still working out the heat.
"I noted the fact that
you were busy with the little ones, so I took care of it myself when
I nodded and thanked her.
"What'd you use?" I
asked.
"Just
my hand." I was impressed;
the only time I ever get an effect like that on him is with a paddle of some
sort. And she did that with just her hand!
"Mamma! You’re not supposed to be THANKING her; you’re supposed
to be MAD at HER!" Timmy shouted from the loft. Neither one of us could
help to do anything but laugh. I turned serious on him then,
"Timmy, you’re supposed
to be in bed, now get into it."
"But
Mamma!"
"Go Timba!"
"Hey, what'd I do?"
Ursa and I turned to see Buddi walking in.
"You did nothing,"
I told him; it hit me then, "Timba's also Timmy's real name."
"Great. Ursa, you guys
going to make me jump every time you talk to him?"
"Buddi…" Ursa said
with warning in her voice. He backed
off.
"Sorry." He said, then headed out to play with Cubbi. Within seconds, he was
back inside,
"The both of you have
got to see this!" He said, laughing. We walked out, only to see my three
preschool daughters and Cubbi. Shanda and
"Stay still; we have ta make you pretty!" She told
him firmly. His eyes went straight to Buddi. They said plainly,
"Shut up and help
me."
"I think I like
this." Buddi told him.
"Here, Buddi take his
picture, that way you can show this to anyone." I told him, handing him
the camera.
"Cool. Thanks, but how
does it work?"
"Like this," I had
forgotten that the time period that they had come from didn't use cameras; they
painted the picture of whatever they wanted to get.
"You hold this part to
your eye so you can still see the person, and push this button, and the picture
will come out and within a few minutes you'll be able to see it."
"Cool, thanks,"
Buddi said as he snapped the shot.
"I'm going to show..."
"You do you'll regret it
big time!" Cubbi called over to him the best he could with a set of small
hands covering his mouth.
Deciding it was enough, I
called out,
"Girls, that’s enough
now; I think he's done now."
"He be
done when we say he done Mamma!"
"Excuse me, young lady!
What was that?"
"He not
getting up!"
"Kenya Elsa, you’re not
to talk to me that way again! Get up off him; I said he's had enough." I
looked to the other two girls. Shanda got off but stomped her foot and started
to run.
"Shanda Kiri, if you run, I'll take the switch to you." I
warned; she stopped in her tracks, looked at me, then headed into the house.
"Skyla please be good
and stop, Cubbi has to get all this off of him now." Skyla's bright eyes
lit up,
"I’ll be back, you
stay." Puzzled Cubbi sat up, his eyes wondering. She left all of us
wondering. When she suddenly ran back to us, without warning a big blast of
water shot straight at the poor boy!
"Call it off, I promise
I'll be good! I won't cause anymore mischief! Just call it off!" Cubbi
yelled out as we all laughed again.
"Well, that’s one way of
getting that all off isn't it?" I asked; my response was a glare as he
walked past all of us.
"That wasn't really nice
Sky."
"It was funny though." Buddi spoke up and told me and that I had to agree with myself.
