“Selena! What are you doing?”

“Grubbi! I’m taking care of my son, he’s fussy.” I told him firmly. “And right now I’m going to find a rocking chair.” I told him heading out of the room. Grubbi blocked her exit

I need to rock with him Grubbi he's scared

I can bring something in here...you aren't leaving

that works but I need one for now

I'm working on it. Wait two minutes...he'll survive

Slowly I walk the room bouncing him a bit talking in Glen to the cub,

Grubbi came back as promised with a wooden rocking chair.

sitting down I laid the cub on my chest and started rocking a bit with him hoping that he would calm down. "He's also lonely Grubbi messes his Mamma"

Grubbi merely nodded in answer but he didn't say anything, instead he went back to Ursa and Buddi, to give the cub's ;legs a look over

Sitting there and talking I watched Grubbi work for a bit Then picked up the book that was by my bed and started looking at it as the cub in my arms fell asleep.

Grubbi seemed happy with the cub's legs so he rose and left the two mothers and their cubs be

About ten minutes later I could hear someone yelling Cyanne's name I sighed and headed to see what was going on

against Grubbi's wishes

Grubbi met up with her halfway down the hall

I heard someone calling Cy's name they sounded upset I want to see what she did this time

Grubbi nodded and then on a whim, poked his head back into the room, to see Ursa was missing as well as Buddi. "all three of you are impossible

I nodded and added I'm a mother its my job to be this hard headed when it comes to my cubs

Grubbi merely rolled his eyes, "I'm coming with you and then you and Buddi are heading back to bed

I headed into the kitchen where several adults along with Ursa and Buddi stood. Buddi's eyes wide with fear I turned to Cyanne, my face white, Cyanne Anneliese Walker Gummi you know better than to play with those don't you? The cub nodded and backed up.

buddi saw Grubbi and took refuge behind Ursa's legs

Not taking any thought to it I stormed over and yanked her up off the floor taking that out of her hands and smacking her backside hard Now get to your room Young Bearess" I ordered

Ursa looked ready to kill herself but she was trying to keep Buddi's breathing even and steady at the moment

I headed back into sickbay and picked up the cub, and the book and sat down in bed and started to read

again

Ursa came in after Selena, "what are you going to do with her?"

I'm to mad to give her the real punishment right now, but she knows to stay in the room until I go get her so she'll stay

there

Ursa nodded, "May I add my own? Grubbi's helping my cub breathe at the moment..." she met Selena's eyes, "He is PETRIFIED of fire, Selena

"She's under your command isn't she? and she's giving you the troubles isn't she?

and she also disobeyed what I'm sure is a rule of yours as well as mine right

why ask me she gives you the problem you can punish her as well

Ursa gave a nod. "Yes...only adults can use flint. Buddi only can use it if I'm with him but he never goes near it anyway-" Grubbi came in at that moment, carrying an obviously heavily drugged Buddi

I sighed, and started apologizing for my daughters actions,

showing I was embarrassed something that happened rarely Grubbi laid the cub down as Ursa stormed out, her eyes almost ready to kill. "Selena...where did Cyanne get those...things? we only have flint here."

I wouldn't have an clue, I didn't even know she had them none of my cubs are permitted to have those

I don't even have those around, I have a lighter

Grubbi blinked, a look of bewilderment on his face. "Well, I'm going with Ursa, to find out. Can you do me a favor?"

sure I'll watch him

Grubbi nodded, "Those drugs should keep him out. If he starts to gag, just slip that mask onto his face

I nodded

then when you get done its Mamma's turn to do the flaming

Grubbi gave a nod. He stroked Buddi's hair a bit and then walked out

Cyanne was already in tears from Ursa by the time Grubbi got in there, "I found them, Cyanne answered when Ursa asked her where she got them

Grubbi hissed, "where?"

"in my treasure tree

Grubbi raised an eyebrow at her, his eyes saying plainly to give a straight answer

"That’s where I found them I found them in my treasure tree"

Cyanne cried even more

Grubbi merely walked forward, snagged the girl and smacked her 8 time with the spoon

But Mamma already did that!" Cyanne cried

so did Ursa! I no need more she said the stormed off to the other side of the room and sitting on the floor

Grubbi picked the girl up and set her on her bed, "You stay in this room, you hear?"

buddi turned over  a bit as Selena rocked her cub and started to gasp and gag

quickly I laid him down and put the mask over Buddi and started talking to him gently

As Grubbi started to leave, "I not sit on bed I sit on floor!" The cub then set herself on the floor again

as soon as Grubbi headed back over to her she kicked her leg out trying to kick him

Grubbi turned, "Yaw want another 8 with this spoon>

then sit on the bed

buddi whimpered, curling up into a ball

" I sit on the floor!"

Grubbi smacked her a good 8 more

Selena gently started talking and trying to sooth Buddi

the cub's eyes opened, still a bit dazed from the herbs no doubt

It's Selena Buddi, your Mamma will be right here, she and Grubbi are tearing into my cub for a moment

buddi simply said, "Fycan...'

I know you want her, she'll be right in as soon as she's done doing what she needs to

soon after seen said this, the door opened and Ursa walked in

I nodded and pointed to Buddi

 

Ursa scooped the cub up and said softly in Barbic, "<Shh, angel boy. Mama's here...Mommy's here. Shh.>"

I watched for a moment then headed to Cyanne's room myself only stopping and heading out doors for a second to grab a stick then throwing her door open. Grubbi was still standing here with her at the moment she was fighting with him still

Grubbi looked up at Selena, "all years Selena...Ursa's with buddi?"

yes she is, I have to ask though what is up with this one and the floor?

Grubbi sighed, "she refuses to sit anywhere but the floor, even when I told her to sit on the bed'

I sighed and stormed over throwing the cub over the bed, and apologized to Grubbi again and asked if he could tell this was the terrible 4s yet

he nodded, "I survived Ursa, Selena." he told her, "Come back to sick bay when you're done

I nodded,

about fifteen minutes later I headed back into sickbay and picked up my cubs and held them too me

Ursa smiled at Selena. Buddi had curled into a ball on her chest and was fast asleep

my two were showing the side of being awake, and starting to explore the best they could with staying in eye sight

Jaysa showed the difficulty again in his standing and walking

Ursa smiled at the two. She was lying against the headboard.  "Explorers?"

I guess I answered as the male cub started crying again

although that one seems to be fussy

Ursa said, "is it his foot?"

I think its both the feet and the fact he wants to do it but can't

and that he's scared

Ursa nodded, "Grubbi did give him a brief look over. He might be able to give him some herbs for that foot

Its a birth defect Ursa, that we have in the future

I know. But he probably has some herbs to help ease the pain

see its both feet, see how they pin out when he walks? his hands seem to do it a lot as well

Ursa nodded, "I see it. He actually might be able to fix that

I've been reading up on how that’s done, I showed her the book I was reading, "I had Darcy get it for me from the city

Grubbi has actually seen a few birth defects, Selena." Ursa removed her right shoe. Her foot looked completely normal. "would you believe I used to have flat feet?"

no but isn't that one that’s easy to fix?

Flat feet is because my arch wasn't there...Grubbi had to make me one

I nodded and watched the cub again, then got up and picked him up again holding him to me

and then there was the matter that Rachis was born with

he was our previous second in command...he was born without any bones in his left leg

she nodded, "Grubbi made artificial ones and put them in as soon as he received mature growth

I nodded, this book was saying threes away that might work to free his legs from that away, threes special exercises that you do for them they’re painful at first though

Ursa nodded, "Grubbi knows those

I nodded, I want to be able to move around more before he starts that though

Ursa nodded, "How old is h, by estimate?

they're both 2

Grubbi would want them to be at least 3

I nodded he needs to get them those things before too long as well

Ursa nodded

as well as a full look over

she gave a nod. Buddi nuzzled his head up until it rested in the crook of her neck

infect I think I’ll have him go ahead and do it today while were stuck

Ursa gave a nod. "he's coming. he wanted to get us some food

I sighed, "I'm not real hungry I think I'll pass

Ursa said, "grubbily make you eat something...trust me

I will in a little bit

Ursa merely said, "well, at least drink something...it'll keep Grubbi happy. I know he's bringing me something...when buddi gets this scared, I’m tuck

buddi yawned and opened his eyes, "Huh?"

Ursa was just saying Grubbi's bringing in food pretty quickly

buddi grinned, "good! I'm hungry!"

I laughed a bit, your always hungry Buddi

he grinned, "I'm growing!"

I know and if your not to careful, you'll hit doorways

buddi pouted, "I wish...Mama says I'm short...got it from Olla"

you know much taller then you were this morning. Twice as tall anyways

buddi merely grinned as Ursa ruffled his hair. Grubbi chose then to enter

I nodded bad sat up taking the water that was given to me, and drank that down and laid back

buddi took the bowl he was given and ate like a starving prisoner

I'll eat in a bit Grubbi I'm not really wanting to eat right now I told him

he nodded, "just eat when you can

I nodded and closed my eyes for a bit, as I slept it all came rushing to me fast. I could hear everything, the screams, and others calling my name, I could see everything going on, the humans everything, I could almost feel the pains or things tearing into my flesh again. Quickly sat up breathing hard sweating and looking around

seeing I was still safe I laid back although I asked for more water

Ursa was awake but had laid back...buddi had fallen back asleep. Grubbi refilled Selena’s glass

I kept asking for more water something I did when I was scared like that a habit I had never gotten rid of

Grubbi finally just left a pitcher by her bed

they both stared at me when hit what must have been my 20th glass, I looked at them asking what

well, just work at it bit by bit

I looked at him, in those places they make it so that any type of drink or food is a rare thing so when they bring it in you drink until you can't hold anymore, the same thing with the food. for some reason I stick to drinking more than the eating part

well, just try to slowly conquer it. or you'll endanger yourself

I nodded and laid back down and started to close my eyes again

I could hear Ursa and Grubbi talking

Ursa said simply, "She's been through a lot. She'll conquer it eventually. she’s stubborn..GRUBBI! What are you doing

I opened my eyes to see what was going on

grubib picked the cub off of Ursa's chest. "I need to check him over and YOU need to go and relax a bi

Grubbi she's a mother let her a lone, I said real quick trying to defend Ursa and Buddi

besides she is relaxing she's been sitting here the whole time

grubib merely glared at Selena. as soon as buddi was away from Ursa, he screamed, bloody murder

Give him back Grubbi, its not right to take a cub from its mother like that

can't you check him over right there in her lap?

grubib said, "I'm the medic. and no I can't."

you should find a better way then

grubbi  made no answer. Buddi opened his eyes, "PUT ME DOWN! FYCA!"

and Ursa's not leaving she stays right beside Buddi

ursa growled and snatched buddi away, "Check him like this or not at all

I smiled and added in I agree that you need to do it with her holding him it would make it easyer on you and less stressful for him and Ursa

grubbi rolled his eyes but did that. "I need to change those banadages

then have him straighten his legs and have it done that way so he's still in her lap

grubbi nodded and walked off to get the bandages. Buddi called, "grubbi? Do i still get the colored ones?

he nodded

grubbi rolled his eyes, "all right, all right, Buddi." the barbic brought over a box and opened it. inside were various rolls of colored gauze with designs on some. "Pick"

as he had started to put a blue set on Buddi my girl cub walked over and raised her leg the best she could I had to laugh at it though

Grubib laughed, "This looks familiar

oh really? I asked as she tried again to get his attention without words

grubib smiled, "hey there little one. You want one?'

you know Grubbi I was going to go ahead and have you give them their look over since we're here anyways why not give it to her as a reward for it or something?

I told him

grubbi nodded, "all right. Let me finish buddi up first

I nodded do you want us to head to another room or did you want us to stay here

you're fine here

I nodded and called her over to me telling her she would get one in a little bit

she grinned

grubbi finished buddi's banadages and then buddi whispered something to him. Grubbi sighed, "yer just like yer mother." he took out a white strap of bandages and adeed those, criss corss pattern over te blue

he just stared at him for a moment. i started getting my two undressed a task that wasn't easy while siting like I was but do able

buddi curled into ursa's chest, grinning, "See?!" Ursa shook her head, "Very creative." grubbi gently came over to Selena;s two cubs

which one you want to do first? I asked him

how about this little grinning girl?" he smiled at her

she smiled right back and raised her arms up to him

grubib lifted her up and set her on a table, giving her a thorough look over, before turning her over, for the injections

I got up and headed over to her before the injections started and started smoothing her hair while he did this

grubbi did it as gently as he could

I then traded cubs with Grubbi taking Jewels into my arms,

grubbi tended to the boy in much the same fashion, although he spent more time on the cub's feet

As Grubbi looked over Jaysa I hoped he wouldn't mention anything about my needing the look overs myself

the cub whimpered as the movements that weren't able to be done himself were done

grubib was gentle and then told selena, "I can start him on some exercises when he's three. I can give you some herbs to help his pain for the moment

I nodded

grubbi gave the cub his injections and then held his box out,for the cubs to pick their banadages

Jaysa clung back not knowing what do to but Jewels took a red one and stared at it trying to stick the thing to her, herself

grubbi smiled and gently wrapped the red around her, both around the injection points and on her arms so that it showed

Jewels grinned at the bandages but Jaysa held himself back.

"Grubbi his he supose to get this insecure?" i asked

no...his birth defect probably affected how he was treated

I nodded, I don't think that it was really known to anyone but his mother thoguh

cause if it was found out they would have killed him

I said this as I headed back to my bed with both cubs

that might have been why she sent them off

I know it is, cause she wouldn't be able to carry him for too long

or keep him hidden that well too much longer

grubbi gave a nod and then turned to Buddi, "hey Buddi, why don't you come with Grandpa for a bit, to get these two a little something." Buddi blinked and looked up at ursa

Ursa nodded as my cubs cuddled into me more starting to drift off

buddi took grubbi's hand and grubbi picked him up and walked off

ursa smiled at the two, "Cubs are cute, aren't they?"

You know it, and you know how scarry it is that Jewels looks like her mother, and Jay looks like my father

Ursa smiled, "Buddi looks like his mother to some extent but his face...I cna't place that to any of his relatives

that must be his own unique gift

to tell you the truth Ursa, he looks like he has your face

Ursa blinked, "what?'

he does look at the both of yourselves in a mirror but it does

ursa smiled, "well...he acts so much like me sometimes it's uncanny

I seen it also in those pictures you showed me he looks like you in the face

ursa smiled a bit but all smiles were destroyed when Budid screamed, "FYCA!!

both of us shot out of that room like it was on fire itself I stared at the sight before me I couldn't believe what i was seeing

I stood there mouth dropped and stunned

buddi was running like mad, his bandages torn and blood rushing down his legs. Cyanne chased after him with a lighted torch. Buddi screamed, "<GET IT AWAY! FYCA!>"

I ran to Buddi as Ursa ran to my daughter since I didn't know how to get that kind of thing away from another I picked him up and took him inside and left Cyanne to Ursa's Mercy

buddi screamed, "WANT FYCA!

I know she'll be right here Buddi I promise, I told him trying to talk and sooth him knowing it would be fruitless. and called for Grubbi as I walked into the kitchen knowing that he would be in there

Grubbi Buddi needs help" i told him

grubbi turned, "what the...heck happened?"

my daughter got after him and was chasing him with a freaken torch, Ursa's with her now

grubbi turned white "she was WHAT?!

I nodded, I was already white myself

I handed Buddi to Grubbi

grubbi took a breath and looked at Buddi. "C'mere...come to Grandpa, Buddi

I headed out to see what was going on, Ursa was still scolding Cyanne and it didn't look like she had even started to punish her

ursa finally finished, ripped the girl's slacks down and took off her belt

Cyanne started to plead and beg for Ursa not to do use her belt

ursa merely did it 12 times, triple, and did not restrain her strength

Cyanne wailed and screamed trying to put her hands behind her begging for Ursa to stop she was hurting her

ursa did not stop until she hit 12, then she added 12 with her hand

Cyanne begged and managed to get her hand where she wanted them

ursa merely hit her hand if it was in the way

Cyanne just shook her hand and stared at Ursa

and asked once more for her to stop

ursa made no reply and gave her a final smack before turning to Selena, "all yersI noddedbefore dragging the cub off telling Ursa I would be back shortly then stopped and asked if she had a verson of a riding crop around

Cyanne screamed at that request

ursa pulled one off the wall. it was a lot tougher and thicker than those Selena knew

I swallowed and stared as I took it into hand. That thing had to hurt against a backside, I knew it. I then turned to Cyanne and started in with the whipping only lecuring as the spanking went on, and giving her the rest of her punishment, and telling her that she also had to face Grubbi and Gritty about this as well as Buddi she begged and pleaded. as I drug her to his room I knocked on the door

the barbic's room knowing that he was in there, and asked if I could talk to him real quick

I would take her to Grubbi in a bit he was still working on Buddi at the moment

Gritti opened the door, "Selena, what are you ding up?"

I have permission right now I'm here to tell you what my daughter here did to my son I thought that you needed to know as well. Ursa's with him in sickbay right now as well as Grubbi is

I went into the details of what Cyanne did and thrusted her infront and had her turned so her back was to Griity already and was ready for him to just bare and smack

Gritty yanked something out of his lower drawer

I watched to see what he was getting

he removed what looked like a wooden fly swatter

I bared the cub myself and bent her over his bed

holding her hands out of the way

gritty gave the cub 8 smacks and the wood proved instead to be woven leaves...it was as hard as wood but it stretched like plastic

Cyanne screamed louder as if she was being killed from that

I looked to Gritty and said I was sorry for my daughters behavior

and gave her another smack as well

he merely nodded and handed her back over as he finished, "where' Buddi?'

in sickbay

that’s where we have to go next anyways

I told him taking the cub by the ear and starting that way, stopping at a corner in there where I could see her but Buddi couldn't and told her to stay there if she moved I would let them take the sword to her

Gritty nodded and ran into sick bay,

and headed out and laid myself down again as I watched them work with Buddi

buddi was pure white, talking only in Barbic, in  pure panic attack

I listened to him and walked back over to my daughter and pulled her out and spoke to her coldly, "You see what you did? You made Buddi frightened, I hope your happy with yourself. now sit here until Grubbi's done with Buddi he'll tend to your backside Ursa pulled buddi onto her lap and started to massage his back, trying to calm him down. eventually, gritty came over and put the breathing mask on him again as Grubbi gave him a light sedative

I made Cy watch everything and slapped her lower back when she turned away

I spoke, "Grubbi when you get done with him if your wanting him she's all yours"

Grubbi laid the cub down in Ursa's arms.  she cradled him like a newborn, laying her face into his hair. Gritty stayed by his mate's side. Grubbi fixed his gaze on Cyanne, "Come here"

Cyanne shook her head she knew that look and there was no way that she was going to walk over there and get another set

or that’s what she thought

Grubbi stormed over and yanked her over by the scuff of her neck

she pleaded as he drug her off I watched to see where he was taking her

he took her into the bathroom

Grubbi no please, I got to many and I sorry

Grubbi slammed the door behind him, Ursa and Gritty winced, "he never took US in there

I winced myself and swallowed, well can you blame him look what she did

NO Grubbi no more! Cyanne begged Grubbi

soon after, there was screaming of  bloody murder heard for a good five minutes

I looked at Ursa and Gritty "What’s he doing to her in there?"

soon Cyanne ran out, "MAMA He hit me with a toilet brush'

"Good! Now get in that corner I pointed out to you earlier I want to see that face in that spot if its not then I'm going to let Grubbi do that again and let Ursa use her sword on you got it! The cub nodded and ran to the spot. a but later I noticed that she had started to take her pants off I called to her not to do that and asked Gritty if he would go slap her backside for me real quick

gritty wasted no time

she scream again and looks at him saying but it hurts want them off

I looked at him talking, "Buddi I'm sorry for what happened are you alright?

he just screamed, "FYCA!

Ursa held him tight, I told Gritty I wanted Cyanne at least hearing the damage that she did

so she was staying in there

buddi was shaking, like a leaf and said, "No fire?'

no Buddi Cyanne did that

and you have every right to flame her with what ever you want

as soon as your able

buddi just screamed, "GET HER OUT! I WANT HER OUT

I nodded and told them to take her out of here and keep someone at  her door at all times

gritty did so, knowing that Buddi would want his mama

Gritty I told her that she would get spanked every day until Buddi can get out of sickbay again from this

gritty gave a nod and led her out

I looked at Buddi knowing he wasn't going to talk to me right now so I tooled to watching my cubs sleep until he feel asleep again

buddi was soon out cold, mainly from exhaustion, Ursa was rocking him back and forth on the bed

I tears of my own were beginning to show, "I'm sorry Ursa that my kid is such a,..... monster, I can't believe that she did this to him

I failed didn't I I failed as a mother

Ursa said simply, "no...no you didn't. Cyanne is four. She's gonna act that way for a bit. She'll get better. And that is actually something I would have done. She probably just thought it'd spook Buddi. Gritty, Grubbi and I are really the only ones who know how deep his fear of fire is

I nodded but I can't help but feel responsible for this

Ursa sighed, "She's probably testing you and me. seeing what we consider to be "cruel"

I nodded and looked at Buddi again, the fear in his face. "Ursa I take responsibility for Cyanne's actions

Ursa shook her head, "No...that's what she wants. You need her to take responsibility for her own actions

she's being punished what else can she do

nothing else...I saw her eyes...I think it clicked

I hope so,

buddi curled upon Ursa’s chest, digging his claws into her tunic and closing his eyes

boy you know the last time I had seen anyone as mad as Grubbi got was when I was a little girl about her age, My father looked a lot like that

I told her while watching her soothe Buddi

Ursa chuckled, "He got mad at me like that once

I had started a fight with a guards child, if you did that you could have gotten yourself killed

the thing was I wasn't even suppose to be out at that time

Ursa chuckled

well he was making fun of us and he wouldn't leave us a lone I was about 3 but I took him down like he was nothing, but I'll tell you after the beating from the Guards I ended up with the tanning like there was nothing left of tomorrow

Ursa laughed, "sounds familiar

Ursa chuckled, "when I was 6, about a month after my parents died, I saw a camp of humans close by. I stole one of our bow and arrows and ran into the camp, firing like a maniac

I stared at her shocked, I bet not

Ursa merely laughed, "Oh, I got better at about 10 or so...Buddi?" the cub squirmed up a bit, laying his head in between her breasts and holding still again

then laughed

I know mean trick isn't it?

she nodded and then looked down at buddi again

buddi only did this for a few more minutes before he slowly started to come to and his mind switched back to reality Ursa looked grateful for this buddi blinked and looked up, "mama? what's wrong?" We were just talking about something that’s all Buddi" I told him covering for Ursa

buddi blinked, still confused I asked her something personal and you woke as she was looking for away to answer buddi looked at Grubbi, sensing something else he nodded agreeing with me buddi laid back down on Ursa's chest, closing his eyes again as soon as he was out again I could see Ursa looking relieved Ursa stroked Buddi's hair, "Okay...now what brought THAT on?'

buddi turned his head deeper into Ursa’s chest and curled up like a baby but he didn't do that again

I looked to Grubbi who looked like he had a funny look open his face, "What are you up to?" I asked him nervous

Ursa chuckled, "he wants to get yer exam and shots over with

you heard her, " Grubbi said, "get over here

we're in sick bay seen

Grubbi shook his head, "now get up here...yaw think y6a got something I haven't seen

no but I’m thinking about the younger ones that are in here, like buddi and the twins

I really don't want them seeing this

they're out cold sighing I climbed up and watched him nervous never even having been seen before

well it is pretty smart to run from what that sounds like, you know Ursa one thing we should do is find out were Grubbi keeps the dates he plans these things and look at them nod take a camping trip or something

Ursa laughs, "I've tried

Ursa nods, "well, technically, we Barbic’s stop true "birthday parties" at 21 but buddi here always does something for his Mama I smiled at that thought my kids can tell I have not one clue of what I'm doing when it comes to these birthdays ever since he was 4...he brought me breakfast in bed...of course up until he was 8, it was uncooked mush

that’s still pretty sweet, I think I’m going to take up a human holiday though, called mothers day, have you heard of that one? Ursa shook her head that’s another one where Buddi can pamper you to death

I can tell and they're wonderful Buddi grins and on a affectionate whim, kisses Ursa on the cheek at that moment the sick bay door opens and Cyanne walks in and says Buddi can I say something to you?" Buddi turns and leans into Ursa again but nods

“I sorry I didn't know you would have all that stuff happen" She told him Buddi nods, "thanks Cyanne." but he doesn't say he forgives her

“Buddi you can still do it if you want, just tell her what you want her to do and use what you want

I tell him” Buddi just curls into Ursa

I then tell the little girl to get back to her room. Buddi merely nods and closes his eyes, curling into Ursa
