“Aunt Ulisa can’t I at least see my Mamma for a little bit?” Joy asked staring at the older Gummi.

: Ulisa turned, "Your Mama needs to rest Joy but if you're quiet and good as you always are, then you can visit her for a while

 she looked at her, and asked can I go now?

Ulisa sighed, "yes, I suppose. Let me call Faith real quick...tell her to keep an ear out here

 No I want to go by myself

Ulisa blinked, surprised at this. "well...alright but I want to at least see that you make i over the timeline all right

 okay Tanni and Darcy are here, you don't need to worry about bothering Faith, 

 Ulisa merely nodded and followed the girl until they reached the time portal

 the child took off.  When Ulisa got back to the house she could hear a couple of the girls screamimgn at Darcy to leave them alone, and Darcy yelling give it back, that doesn't belong to you

 ulisa walked through and said, "all right, what's going on?'

 "Aunt Ulisa these too ave gotten into Mamma's scrapbook, she had asked all of us not to get into it, theres things in it that could scare the life out of them

 ulisa put her hands on her hips and looked at the two offenders

 *skyla and Shanda are doing this*

 But Auntie we want to see cause we found the book ourselves all of us kids did, but we haven't had a chance to look at it

 "SKYLA VIDEL WALKER GUMMI! SHANDA KIRI WALKER GUMMI!"

 "we just wanted to see!

 *this is really the first time I've raised my voice...I'm like Ursa...if I yell, yer toast

 Ulisa narrowed her eyes, "Your mother told you to leave that alone did you not?

 "Yes but we want to see." Melody walked up, "I seen it I was on Mamma's lap when she looked through it the first time, and they have really bad pitcures, the kid that are from places where me and my sisters came from

 ulisa took the scrapbook pictures away herself and yelled at the two girls to get to their rooms

 the two flew out and Darcy looked at Ulisa

 "i'm sory but I had to try to get them out of it

 Ulisa nodded, "I'm glad. You did just fine, Darcy

 She looked at the older Gummi for a minute before heading into the kitchen

 Ulisa meanwhile headed for the two remaining offenders "I'm sorry Aunt Ulisa it was Shanda's idea"

 Ulisa nodded and rubbed the girl's back

 Skyla nodded and climbed into Ulisa's back, "I see why Mamma said no to us looking they had scarey pictures in there why would she have those

 

 she has her reasons I'm sure. Maybe she'll tell you why when you're older.

 ulisa merely rubbed the girl's hair and started to rub the girl's tmeples

 Skyla leaned back and started to suck on her thumb

 ulsia kept this up until the girl fell asleep and then she laid her down

 Shanda looked up seeing Ulisa walked in

 Ulisa walked over slowly and said sternly, "Shanda Kiri Walker Gummi...you knew better than that, didn't you...

 she nodded sitting on her bed backing up

 Ulsia smiled, "you're scared, aren't you?"

 a little someof those gummies in the back were hanging from trees

 Ulisa picked her up and cradled her

 it was by their neck's Anutie, but someone was standing infront with what looks like a young version of mamma, and some big one that looked like your clan

 ulsia merely nodded, she could guess what that meant but she focused on comforting the girl in her arms

 where did she come from, the cub asked with a lot of questions, did she do that to the one behind her

 Ulisa sighed, "she?"

 that must of been the one with her, but how did that one behind her die?

 I don't know Little One." Ulisa sighed and found herself quoting something from one her children's movies...it fit. "Many that live deserve death and some that die deserve life."

 Shanda just looked at her, staring not knowing what to say

 Ulisa looked at Shanda smoothed her hair, "Some things in life aren't fair...I've lived through some of it as has your mother. But that's why endulge in you chidlren so. Why we try to give you the best we can. Because even though life is sometimes cruel, it is mostly good...we want you all to grow up that way...happy

 she nodded, Auntie theres something I have to show you

 Ulisa nodded, "what is it,honey?'

 she climbs out of her lap and walks over to her closet, and opens the door, an ear to a small cub sticks out

 I found them the other day and didn't say anything yet, its scarry but they look like Mamma a bit

 Ulisa knelt down, "well, hey there little ones

 niether of them anwered, "thats the other reason we were looking at it to see if they really were part of that family

 Oh..." Ulis paused, "They haven't met your mother?"

 Shanda shook her head, we found them and brought them in before she seen them

 We should introduce them, don't you think?

 I will when she gets better,

 Ulisa merely nodded, "all right...I want your word on that thpugh

 she nodded and thats also why I keep taking food out of the room so they eat

 Ulisa smiled, "well, you don't need to sneak it anymore

 she nodded Ah Ulisa, i need one actually 2 of chace's sized underpants

 Ulisa smiled, "no problem." she walked out and then returned quickly

 Shanda showed her how she could change a diaper with no problem, the girl cub started screaming in pain as soon as she got hers on

 Ulisa quickly started to chekc her over

 seeing htat she had a rash that had the sking blistered so much that the skin was haning at points from the cub's diaper area

 Ulisa winced and gently picked the girl up. she laid her down on the bed and then retried some medication and told the girl to hold still and it would be okay in a minute

 as she started the child cried more at the touch even if they were gentle,

 ulisa hated to make any child cry but she knew the medication would kick in in a moment

 Aunti is it suopes to look like that? there were a few blisters that had opened and some that had looked like they had bled at one point, and the one that was getting the medication now started to bleed at the mear touch

 ulisa shook her head, "Shanda, can you do Auntie a favor?"

shanda nodded and asked what was wrong with her

 she's just got a bunch of ouchies. can you go get Auntie her bag from her room?

 Shanda nodded

 Ulisa nodded, "good girl. Go and get that for me"

 Shanda ran to the room and back with it handing it to her

 ulisa dug through it, after thanking shanda and took out a small herb stick which she broke under the girl's nsoe,,,she soon was asleep

 Auntie Ulisa needs to cut them off. that way the pain will stop sooner. I put her to sleep for a bit so it won;t hurt her when I do it

 Shanda nodded and held the cub's hands as ulisa was getting ready

 ulsia rubbed some lotion on the girl's backside, numbing her skin and nerves before taking out a sterile scalpel

 Shanda watched with curious eyes,

 ulisa said, "Shanda? She's gonna bleed a lot but that's okay, all right? don't get scared.Just remember I'm helping her

 she nodded, Auntie can you show me how to do these things, i want to learn too

 You want to be a healer?

 I can teach you. so can Grubbi. if you wanna help me, you can get things when I ask for them, okay?

 ulsia slowly cut away the blistered skin, wincing herself at the number of bruises

 What are all those bruses from?

 they came from the blisters....does your mother ever mention that she hasta make sure the babies don't get a rash?

 no she doesn't know i can do this I never showed her

 ah...well, if a baby or toddler's diaper isn;t changed enough then they'll get a rash.,...this is mainly a really bad rash

 they had those when they came here Ulisa I didn't know they were something bad

 it's okay sweetie. it isn't too bad. I cna fix it

Shanda watched for a little bit and as soon as ulisa ha dfinished she decided to show Ulisa something eles on the cub, her back was covered in fresh burn like markings still pretty fresh, the fur just now starting to grow back a bit

 ulisa nodded and said, "sweetie, see that bottle of purple water in my bag?"

 she nodded and handed it to her before Ulisa said anything eles

 Ulsia smiled, "thanks pumkin." she washed the burns in the liquid and then asked Shanda for some of the gauze in her bag

 she handed it over and watched, then said Aunti she looks like someone in Mamma's book

 ulisa wrapped the burns and said, "she does?"

 can I go get the book and show you what I mean

 yes, but only that picture. tell darcy i told you to get just one okay

 I can't take them out of the book though so I'll have to bring that to you, she said running back with the book in hand and turned to the page, that one see the little girl looked like a mirror image of the cub there beside Mamma's little grl picture

 ulisa blinked, "Shanda, I think this is a picture of your Mama's sister

 so these are her blood related cubs?

 I think so...I think these are your Mama's niece and nephew

 but where are they're mamma

 I think they're gone

 Let Mamma have them," Shanda said looking at her pleadingly

 Ulisa chuckled, "I doubt I'll be able to take them away if I wanted to. Do you want to wait for your Mama to get better or introduce them now?"

 wait till she's better that way its a suprise when she gets back

 Ulisa smiled, "okay then." she finished with the girl and laid her down in Shanda's bed. "Is her brother hurt?"

 she nodded and showed her a buchs of wounds all over his back, Ulisa also noted that he was standing not like the other cubs his age do he was useing Shanda as and aid of suport

 he ha dsword marks, whip marks, as well as burns and blisters

 Ulisa smiled and knetl down, "You hurt, little one?"

 he didn't answer but stared at her. "He can't walk right, he walks with his hands I seen him several times, Auntiw

 Ulisa nodded, "I'm gonna make the pain stop little one, kay?"

 he don't look the walking hurts but the rest does

 Ulisa lifted the cub up, slowly, so not to scare him

 stunned the cub stared at ulisa's touch as if it was the first gental touch he had felt

 Ulisa gently rubbed his hair and then broke a similar herb under his nose

 shanda watched for a bit,

 are you going to give him that owie that you gave us when we came to the orphanage?

 ulsia tended to those wounds quickly enough and after patching him up. Ulisa smiled, "Not yet. I want them to rest a bit first but then I will

 she nodded but why not do it while they sleep so they don't know they got them

 ulisa smiled, "you're a clever one. I'll do that." removing a few syringes, she prepared them before giving the three shots as was custom

 Shanda covered her eyes at the last one

 ulisa smiled and said, "i'm done

 Shanda nodded, am I introuble still?

 "yes but you're just gonna stay here until your mother gets home

 she nodded and asked how long is she going to be gone?

 Barbic Fever isn't too serious, probably just a few more days

 she nodded and stared at the cubs, but can't i help get a room set for them?

 Ulis asmiled, "That you can do

 when?

 wait until they wake up ,so they can help choose

 she nodded am i in trouble for hiding them?

 she nodded again and laid diwn with the toddlers

 Ulisa covered the three up and then walked out to return the photo album where it had been

 Auntie Shanda called out, did you know that the boy one here looks like Mamma?

 Ulisa turned and smiled, "I noticed"

 oh something fell out of hte back of the scrapbook

 Ulisa knelt and picked it up

 can you read it to me please? Maybe it has something about these two

 the note had a promise written from a gilr cub by the name of Jewel and was signed by both Jewel and Selena as what seemed to be small cubs

 ulisa read over the writing

 waht is it asks shanda?

 Ulisa smiled, "a promise written by your mother and a girl named Jewel, as cubs

 waht kind of promise? I know theres was a necklace on the girl, that had a note in it here have it- when Ulisa read it the note said remember our promise

 Ulisa smiled, "I think only yer Mama would know

 doesn't it say what the promise is?

 Shanda's face fell a minute, maybe the answer is in the rest of that scrapbook

 We'll, if it doesn't say, we should wait. If yer Mama wants to tell, she will

 But I want to KNOW!" Shanda whined

 Just be patient, little one. Tell ya what. Why don't you start thinking about what room or rooms these two would like

 Not fair, I want to know. But she headed back to her room

 Ulisa merely nodded, and watched her go
