INFANTRY SQUADS |
|
|
|
The bulk of the IG are their infantry squads. They beef up the numbers so that the enemy has to shoot up quite a bit of meat to get to your more valuable targets. Armed with one of the weakest standard weapon in the 40k universe, the lasgun, the Imperial Guardsmen are often not thought of as a threat. However, as enemies come to find out, 1000 of these little buggers at close range can do some damage and seriously swing close combat odds the other way. |

BLUE SQUAD (INFANTRY) |

For being troops, I'm very happy with most of my infantry squads. On the battlefield, I think the IG look very impressive. This is blue squad, led by a sergeant that was one of the eraly miniatures painted in the army that turned out very well. I also have the medic from the command set in this squad to mix it up a little. |

You can see some of the various stages of shading experimentation that I was doing in the 3 frontline miniatures here. The leader (with sword and pistol) was one of the first guard painted with brown shading underneath the khaki. The middle was shaded using brown ink, and the right (medic) was undercoated with Desert Yellow (which was the earliest variant in the army which kinda sucked). |

GREEN SQUAD (INFANTRY) |

Green Squad is pretty good, led by a more casually dressed leader model who chooses to go with the same kind of headgear as his mates. |

Orange Squad has my "Crappy Leader" model in it that I used because I aquired it through trade. I didn't really like the way he turned out so I've been continually disappointed with him. |

A pic showing more of the Heavy Weapons team. I like the way the church rubble turned out for some reason. Call me crazy. You can also see the crappy power fist on the leader. lol. The middle guy is a good example of one of the earlier painted miniatures. |

RED SQUAD (INFANTRY) |

Red Squad has a lot of good minies in it. Including my favorite sergeant miniature. Also a notable is the guy i made to look like he was tossing a grenade. Not a golden demon conversion but a neat one. Overall the miniatures that I threw together in this squad were some of the better ones. The Weapons team is the first team that I painted but still are ok. |

Yellow Squad Ninja! A rinky dink outfit that I didn't include a weapons team with in thier photo. They do have the token black guy though. J/k He is not the only man of color in my army. One of the weapons team members are black and I will most likely add a few more before the army is finished. Yellow.... bet they run first every time. |
