| The name Hoover was originally Huber. My Hoover family is supposedly Swiss or German in origin. One George Huber emigrated in 1737 to Pennsylvania. His son, Michael Huber, fought in the Revolutionary War. The family settled in what is now Dauphin county, Pennsylvania. |
