CLOTHED WITH THE SUN
By Lois Hoover
This book is an autobiography describing the author's encounter with God in a transcendental, out-of-body, near-death experience, where she heard great voices from heaven speak of things which are and which shall be hereafter... The book was written during the years 1967 to 1971 and published in 1979.
This is an unusual story in that the title of the book comes from Revelation 12:1, and that it encompasses the events prophesied in Revelation 12 in exact detail. The realization of the fulfillment of Revelation 12 is offered in this book. In Revelation 11:19 the temple of God was opened in heaven; and immediately following that, the drama of the woman "clothed with the sun" appears on the scene.
1 "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman CLOTHED WITH THE SUN, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars."
[Secrets are being divulged here. The evidence of my role are known to only a few living human beings, and to God! This web page was first published in 1998 under the old Prodigy ISP but was removed with the Y2K millennial problems. It is being reinstated here.]
At every step of the way, the reader will find with alarming awareness that the events of "Clothed With The Sun" are analogous to the events of Revelation 12. The author examines her life, begins her story with the firm conviction of the validity of her spiritual experiences, then calls attention to the struggles that took place as a consequence of a troubled first marriage and birth of a son.
2 "And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered."
In following the next verse in this prophecy, we can even ascertain that she was to become a victim of some great foe who infests the world:
3 "And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his head."
Thus we see at a glance, that what has been most strongly adduced in support of the idea that Satan exists, a picture of an invisible foe with great power. With the dragon in view, it becomes necessary to show how this turbulent monster affects the woman and her child. The color red of the dragon denotes his cruel and violent nature, and the seven heads and ten horns are symbols of his worldwide destructive power.
4 "And his tail drew the third part of the stars in heaven, and did cast them to the earth; and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born."
This points to a great struggle in the woman's marriage. It is almost like saying the child will be devoured by evil forces from the time he is born! A tempestuous marriage results in fear and terror for the mother and her child. The dragon's tail pulling down "the third part of the stars in heaven" is a terrifying portraiture of the power of evil on earth; and can be traced back to the beginning of time and the whole age-long conflict of good versus evil.
5 "And she brought forth a man-child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne."
The man-child is the seed of the mystic woman. The prophecy of Revelation 12 no longer lies in the Past, but in the Future.
In the book, "Clothed With The Sun," the author explains that she divorces her first husband and almost immediately marries someone else. To use her own words, she explains it this way on page 7: "Why did Eldred and I get married in the first place? It's hard for me to say, it all happened so fast. A chance meeting, a whirlwind courtship, and before the ink was hardly dry on the divorce papers of my first marriage, we were wed."
6 "And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days."
The author "flees" to a great wilderness (Alaska) in 1960 with her new husband and young son. She reflects in her story how this all came about. "I was seeking a solution to my pathetic personal and financial burdens, and admittedly, did want to "get away from it all." I ws living in a large city and had been getting financial assistance from my parents to help buy food and milk for my infant son and myself. The finance company had repossessed my car, someone had stolen my diamond rings, a cab driver was suing me for an accident that had happened a while back, my baby-sitter was neglecting Timothy while I was at work, there were frightening gang fights below my window, my baby's piggy bank was missing, cranksters who knew I was separated from my husband were making obscene phone calls, and I felt I simply could not handle my problems all alone." [This, my friends, is an example of the "dragon" hard at work!]
But how magnificent a thing to know that God also is at work! It may sound like boasting but as I began to reflect on my experiences in Alaska after the spiritual encounter with God, I realized it was a wonderful manifestation of God's power to predestine my life in the wilderness! To consider that my own individual life consisted of a "place prepared of God" was startling to say the least! And three and one-half years later, in the wilderness, exactly as prophesied in John's Revelation, God would call me!
My husband's home was located in North Pole, Alaska, the Home of Santa Claus. An extract from my book reads: "The house was located not on Dancer Street, or Prancer Street, nor even Donner or Blitzen, but (do you recall the most famous one of all?) on Rudolph Lane! Yes! It was only a few blocks away (from Santa Claus House) and within a minute or two, we were there."
[This was clearly God's Plan for the consummation of the ages! And how appropriate Christ Himself would appear to the woman "clothed with the sun" in North Pole, Alaska, the land of Santa Claus! Indeed, this was to manifest a great finish to the greatest story in the world! And indeed, this was the place where Christmas and Santa Claus could be brought together in a compelling experience beyond the spheres of the earth.]
The author describes her experiences of "being fed" in the wilderness, that is learning and growing dramatically in a community of people from all walks of life and establishing life-long friendships. She accepted a job at the Alaska State Employment Service in Fairbanks, Alaska; and also was hired as church organist at Zion Lutheran Church. This is how she describes her encounter at Zion:
"But it wasn't until Eldred took me to Zion Lutheran Church, Fairbanks, Alaska, where my heart shall always remain, that my thirst for friendship was finally quenched. In sacred solitude, this church stands impressively above the level of the highway. It was founded in 1958, the same year my son Timothy was born. My husband and his mother were among the charter members... Once inside the vestibule, you have an awareness that you are part of a divine concord. Part of this comes from the welcoming spirit of the people there. A feeling of unfathomable love reaches you as you share a smile or a cordial greeting. There is no pretentiousness in the grasp of fellowship there; but like the sublime music of the organ, it uplifts your soul and melts your heart... The fellowship was as warm as the coffee. Later, I was showered with more kindness. A wedding reception for my husband and me was given by the pastor and his gracious wife at their home. This happy occasion not only invigorated my spirit, but it was the tie that bound me to many dear friends... A sociable happy evening! Kind looks, kind words, kind acts, this was the outpouring of Zion! How can I forget all this? I was a stranger, and ye took me in!"
As time wore on, things were seen from a different aspect. The author describes her marriage, which was contentious, but this was offset by her application of time and energy in other areas, such as her work, her friendships, and her children, which she narrates in the book. It is significant to mention that when she was hired to become Zion's church organist in the fall of 1960, that her language of communication with the Divine broadened and developed. For it was here that she experienced her role as "daughter of Zion". She approached the task with all the fervor of a skilled artisan who loves her work! She writes in her book, "I realized I possessed a new language of praise to God. I loved every minute of it. The church organist sits in a divine position, clothing the worshippers with religious expressions of triumph, joy, suffering and tragedy, drawing their thoughts to the Deity."
And then.... when an important element of time has passed... a thousand two hundred and threescore days... it happens!!
The Good Friday Earthquake in Alaska on March 27, 1964!!
"It was an appalling catastrophe that Alaska will never forget... When Easter morning arrived.. there was an atmosphere of great solemnity as we discussed the devastating Good Friday Earthquake. The minister said that 'surely the Earthquake was planned by God Himself and was symbolic of things to come.'"
In the author's book and previous web pages, she states: "We shall now proceed, methodically, to show you the validity of those words."

In order to understand the precise wording in which the story of Christ's Second Coming is revealed in the book, "Clothed With The Sun," it is necessary to read the entire script. This webpage only provides a brief outline of the chapters that constitute the book itself. The title of the book indicates that its main objective is to describe the fulfillment of Revelation 12. I wrote the book, not as an author searching for truth, but as a person who was given a direct command from the Triune God of the heavens! Here are some crucial passages from the book:
All day Wednesday, April twenty-second [1964], I worked hard and by nightfall my body was very tired and weak. Eldred and I both retired early. A pain had formed in my chest and I tossed and turned in bed. It was a tremendous pain. I couldn't sleep.
It was after midnight now, the pain was still powerful, and I was still very much awake. Suddenly:
"Lois!"
Lo! In the darkness! A voice!
"Lois! You're dying!" said the voice.
I gasped, afraid to stir, afraid to breath! "No!" I whispered. My eyes opened wide, staring into the darkness.
"You're dying," the voice said again.
I quickly jumped up, very frightened, and shook my husband by his shoulders. "Eldred, Eldred," I cried.
"Huh?" said my husband in a startled tone. "What's wrong?"
I was trembling and nearly in tears. "Eldred, I'm dying." My heart was palpitating like mad and the pain was phenomenal. There was no doubt in my mind. I was dying!
"Oh, Lois, you're not dying," Eldred said. "Go back to sleep."
"But my heart!" I cried. "It hurts so! I know I'm dying!"
My husband put his arms around me then and murmured, "It's your nerves, honey. Now lie down and go to sleep."
"But I'm frightened, Eldred."
"It's just your nerves, Lois," he repeated. "Now lie down and get some rest."
For the moment, I was calmer, and I lay down, very hesitantly, wondering, fearing, filled with terror at the beating of my heart, afraid even to breathe.
Presently the night was wrapped in solemn silence again. There was not a stir in the air. The pain in my heart was still very distinct as I lay there pondering. Each second seemed an eternity and each heartbeat a lifetime as the pain increased. I tossed and turned again and lay on my back staring into the darkness. Suddenly my heart began to palpitate rapidly again, and suddenly, in the darkness, a voice called:
"Lois, you're dying tonight."
"Oh, no, it's true!" I whispered softly. "I'm dying."
Suddenly there were voices all around me. Yes, yes, the heavens were opened and the seraphim of angels were singing and the house was filled with his glory. And I could feel my spirit lifting up.
"No, no, no," I cried, beginning to weep. The pain was becoming greater and greater and the heavenly singing was coming closer and closer. "I'm going to be with Manley," I cried. "Oh, Timmy, Timmy, your Mommy is dying. Your Mommy is dying."
I wept softly and closed my eyes. My body was feeling so divinely strange. Suddenly my life was flowing and swirling before me; and a gentle voice was speaking so clearly to me now as he took my spirit and journeyed with me along the pathway of my life, a path so filled with cadences of joys and sorrows. "Lois, Lois, remember this? Remember this?" the voice would say so sweetly and so gently as we journeyed together.
"Yes, yes," I whispered.
In a flash I saw my loved ones before me. Everyone. My family, my friends. My husband. My children. "I love them all so much," I whispered. "Yes, yes, I love you all. Yes, Eldred, I love you. And now I'm leaving you, I'm leaving you." I began to weep more, crying, "Timmy, Timmy, my precious Timmy. Your Mommy is going away, your Mommy is going away."
My heart was bursting with love and the pain became even greater. Yes, it was true. Death was reaching me.
Suddenly I heard a voice so great, like the rumble of thunder, trembling through every vein in my body, saying, "Who do you love above all things?"
I burst into violent tears. "Jesus, Jesus, I love my Jesus," I cried. "Jesus, Jesus, I love my Jesus."
It was then that my heart burst, the pain disappeared, the voices stopped, and my body became limp.
As a thief in the night, He came.
(Quoted from pgs. 50-52, "Clothed With The Sun," ©1979)
(The Spirit of Christ revealed many secrets that night which laid a new foundation for my faith. This is testified in the many writings of this author.) The heart of the dialogue were the words (repeated three times that night) that rendered me captive and enslaved, "Your purpose in life is to write a book!"
[This, my friends, was the start of the revelation of that phenomenal climatic night. As you read further into the special language of the dialogue with the Thief, you will indeed discover what it means when the Bible says that Christ comes quickly to an unprepared and sleeping humanity. Christ came down from heaven that night, as the Bridegroom, to the level of humans, to the bride, and the dialogue is revealed in the book, "Clothed With The Sun."]
Also as revealed on pg. 80, there was no one I could discuss this phenomena with. I wrote: "There was nowhere to turn. Still, I wondered at those things which were told to me by the Highest God, and kept them, and pondered them in my heart."
And so, between that time and the present time, over four decades have elapsed during which time the entire Apocalypse was fulfilled, and the eschatological temple was built. All this is revealed in the many writings of the author. But the motif of the entire Second Coming can be heard in the last words of Revelation where the Spirit and the bride say:
"Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." Rev. 22:17.
With this vision, the final stage and consummation of the religious history of Christianity is revealed. The Christianity of the future must be a Christianity which comes from above, and not the Christianity formulated out of the egoistic patriarchal church longing for power. The heavenly Jerusalem is the beginning, not only of the new Heaven, but also of the new Earth; and it is in the sphere of the author's revelation from Jesus Christ Himself that all the secrets of the heavenly Jerusalem are to be found!
The entire cosmological truth of the coming of the Bridegroom is in the words of John:
"The marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready." Rev. 19:7.
Thus is revealed the mystery of the Second Coming.
