Mothers:  They come in all sizes, shapes, colors and personalities.  Everybody has at least one.
May is a perfect month to celebrate a special day for mothers, since it is a time of emerging flowers.  Mother -- what a lovely flower!

Though my mother is no longer with me, Mother's Day is a special time to remember her and the godly, unselfish life she lived for our family.  Though I no longer can enjoy her physical presence, her essence will always be wafting around me.  Her influence never leaves.

No, she wasn't perfect--unless having a heart full of love makes one perfect, and it very nearly does!  But she was perfectly lovely!  My, my!  If she had been perfect, I would have been drowned at birth (smile); because she would have known that I could never come anywhere near her perfect status.  However, in her eyes, her children were perfect; because she looked at them with eyes filled with love for them.

Someone said God couldn't be everywhere, and that is why He gave us Mothers.  Of course, God can be "everywhere."  He just gave us Mothers to demonstrate His unconditional love.

Several years ago before Mother left us, I wrote a poem to her and it seems appropriate to share it here to honor her during this Mother's Day season.
A tribute to a lovely flower, Lillie Mae Adams
"L I L L I E"
Some like Orchids,
   and some like Roses red;
Some like Violets,
   and some like the whole bed.

Now, they're all pretty
   and part of God's creation--
A lovely sight to behold
   all over this nation. . .

But Lilies are the fairest
   and the dearest to me
'Cause Lily (Lillie) is
   Mother's name, you see.
