He may not have shown me he cares,And he may not tell me he loves me,
But I know he really cares,
And that he really does love me.
He may not treat me the way he should,
Or give me anything I want,
Or show me that he ever would,
That doesn't mean I'm gonna get what I want.
He may not understand me most of the time,
Or even seems to care,
Or he may want to know sometimes,
But I never seem to be there.
He may not give me a reason for saying no,
Or he may not tell me what's the matter,
But I feel as if he thinks I shouold know,
And, no matter what I do or say, he's still my father.
