WELCOME...

Crwbin Silver Band is a friendly, enthusiastic and committed Third Section community brass band located in the small village of Crwbin some 7 miles from Carmarthen and 11 miles from Llanelli in West Wales.

The band was originally formed in 1891 and reformed in 2000 - since then the band has gone from strength to strength climbing from the 4th Section to the 2nd Section.

Despite relegation to the Third Section following some inconsistent contest performances we gained 2nd place at the 2022 Area Contest in March resulting in an invitation to represent the Welsh Area at the National Brass Band Championship Finals to be held at Cheltenham in September.

We have a long history of competing annually in the Welsh Regional Area contest as well as local contests organised by both West Wales and SE Wales Brass Band Associations We are proud of our recent successes at Local Contests – we were adjudged Runners Up in the 2nd Section of the Welsh League in 2017 and 2018. An important annual event on our calendar is the National Eisteddfod of Wales Brass Band competition – we were declared winners of the 2nd Section in 2017 and 2019. In 2022, we came a respectable 3rd place in the Third Section.

We also perform in concerts, carnivals, fundraising events, parades and various other community functions. The MUSICAL DIRECTOR is Alex McGee – rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 7 – 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 4pm – 6 pm. and held in our own purpose built band room. We openly extend a warm welcome to any new players who may be interested in joining a happy group of musicians. Our JUNIOR BAND caters for beginners and rehearses on Tuesdays from 6 pm - 6:50pm
