Students Excel in 1st Marking Period

During the first nine weeks students get adjusted to the new school year:
teachers' expectations for classwork, homework, projects and behavior.
They enjoy being with old friends and making new friends.
Congratulations to Martin, Katie and Jamie for earning all A's on their report cards for the 1st Marking Period!

Food ~ I like to reward students who return things on time, keep their desks neat, complete AR goals, show
kindness to a new student, complete all homework, have perfect attendance, etc.  Food is always a great
reward!  Please send cookies, candy, or other food motivators, anytime throughout the year,  packaged
so that I don't have to use them immediately, but will use them within a week.  We have 22 students in our great
          class!
SPECIAL THANKS TO ...
SPECIAL REQUESTS ...
Our school's Running Club gives students the opportunity to warm up their bodies and minds, so that they can be their very best during the  academic times of the day.  Our athletes are Najee, Charlie, Luke and Martin.
Student Absences - must now be recorded by the teachers as excused or unexcused.  An absence is excused only if a parent sends a note following the absence, explaining the reason for the child missing school.

Tardies - after 5 tardies, teachers notify the administration.  No child will be marked tardy if he rides the bus and the bus is late.
Cafeteria Charges - The cafeteria will not allow students to charge lunches.  However, no child will ever go without food.  Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches will be provided for those students who forgot their lunch money.  To avoid this occurrence, keep some extra money in your child's lunch account.
Multiplication Masters know all multiplication facts from 2's to 12's: Najee, Chris, Abram, Jacob, Bradley, Martin, Soren, Brady, Christopher, Ryan, John, Nobuko, Katie and Hanna.  They were given a very unusual award to commemorate
their achievement.

    These students, Jamie and Martin,
    demonstrated the
lifeskills of
    integrity and flexibility during the
first 9 weeks.  Way to go!
Band allows students to pursue their talents in music.  Did you know that musical students are usually good in Math?  Great job Aimee, Soren, Mark, Cedric and Chris!
The use of the Responsibility Book begins Monday.  The first and second offenses result in signing the book and having detention.  The third offense results in going to the office.  All subsequent offenses result in going to the office.  After the 3rd visit to the office, students have lost the much-anticipated field trips.
