Welcome New Students to 5th Grade and to Oak Grove!

WELCOME ~
Welcome to Mrs. Seifert's Class and to our Class Website.  As you will see our website is an integral part of the communication between teachers, students and parents.  Some pages are updated every six or nine weeks (Class Newsletter, Poems, Spelling Lists), and several are updated between 2:30 and 4:30
DAILY (What's New, Homework), which is especially helpful if you are absent.  Many assignments are posted here throughout the year in case handouts are lost.  Mrs. Seifert encouages the use of email to clarify details of homework assignments.  She also welcomes all ideas to improve our website.

SPECIAL REQUESTS ~

PAPER!
I have purchased two color printers for you to use, but never have enough paper.  Would you consider donating one package of Xerox Primary 8 1/2 x 11 paper?
      INK CARTRIDGES ~
      SHARING THE COST
Would you care to donate $5.00 to help pay for black and color cartridges throughout the year?  Students are always permitted to print in color for their classroom projects with Mrs. Seifert's approval.

PERSONAL FLOPPY
Please donate $.50 to cover the cost of your own floppy that you will use in class.  I will purchase a high quality floppy that will stand up to the repeated copying we will be doing.  Please do not bring your own from home.

THANK YOU!

EXPECTATIONS ~
* be on time (in the room 7:25-7:45)
* be ready to learn
* actively participate in lessons
* complete homework on time
* complete projects on time
* study well for tests

HOMEWORK AGENDA
Homework and reminders will be written by you during a specified time each day.  It is very important that you check your agenda often.  Mrs. Seifert will copy all homework and reminders that are on the daily homework board to the class homework webpage
DAILY between 2:30-4:30.  You will have homework every day, Monday through Thursday.

WOW folders ~
(Work of the Week) These folders will be sent home every Wednesday or Thursday, and will include all graded work and tests, as well as informational letters from the principal and county.  Please ask your parent to sign the WOW folder, and return it
the next day, so that it is available for the next week's filing.

RUNNING CLUB
Start each day in a healthy way.  Eat a good breakfast, then join your friends for a morning jog.  What a great time to catch up on each others' news - and you won't be tying up the telephone!  Drop your things off in the cafeteria, then meet on the track.  Don't forget to s-t-r-e-t-c-h before taking off!  7:20 - 7:40 every day, except when it is raining or below 32 degrees.  It starts August 26.

This page will be under revision often throughout the beginning days of school. Please check for changes and additions that might be posted.
