Rhonda Mitchell Jones, 49, of Coalfield, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Jones was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs.
She was the wife of Donny Jones. Her parents, Brad and Maggie Mitchell, are deceased.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters, Maggie Nolan of Coalfield and Scarlet Nolan and her husband, Gary, of Oak Ridge; and her grandchildren, Tristian Ward, Marissa Ward, Lacie Stewart, Briana
SEIBER and Gatlin SEIBER.
She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Schoffner of Heiskell and Phyllis Jackson and her husband, W.R., of Coalfield; and by her brothers, Paul Mitchell of Durham, N.C., Lee Mitchell and his wife, Judy, of Chattanooga, Joe Mitchell and his wife, Kathy, of Hale, Mich., and Ted Mitchell and his wife, Sharon, of Lenoir City.
Dianna Hall of Coalfield and Diane Porter of Oak Ridge were considered special friends.
Two sisters and a brother, Margie Hackworth, Lena Rickett and Bill Mitchell, are deceased.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. The Rev. Garvan Walls, Stephen Hensley and Carl Elliott Jr. will officiate.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg is handling arrangements.

Lloyd Lecil BROWN

Lloyd Lecil Brown, 63, of the Medford community of Lake City, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He enjoyed camping, four-wheeling, hunting and shooting matches, and being with his family and friends. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Angela Mills Brown; his daughters, Savannah Shea Brown of Lake City, Rockie Jo Lovely and her husband, John, of Briceville and Patsy Lowe and her husband, George, of LaFollette; his grandchildren, Walter Hayden Mills, Stacy Lowe, Angie Lowe and Brittany Lowe; his sisters, Sarah Crowley and Sue Foust and her husband, Eugene, all of Clinton, Mary Woods of Oak Ridge, and Sabra Lennox and her husband, Freddie, of Lenoir City; and his brother, Carvin Bunch of Clinton.
Amanda Elkins, Ashley Duncan and Alyssa Lowe were considered his "grandchildren by heart"; Della and Arvil Brown, his "parents by heart"; and Johnny Brown, Ed Bunch, Doc Phillips, Dave Hill, Donald Sharp, Bill Pfiester,
Doyle SEIBER, Jay Will Phillips and others were considered his "brothers by heart."
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Creasie Phillips Bunch and Clifford Bunch and Gene Brown, and his grandparents, Byrd and Suzannah Phillips.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Browns Flat Baptist Church in Medford with the Rev. Tom Byrge and the Rev. Jimmy Ray
SEIBER officiating. Viewing will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight, April 18, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City.

Sterling 'Short' ADKINS
Retired coal miner

Sterling "Short" Adkins, 65, of Oliver Springs, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Adkins was born July 9, 1935, in Campbell County, the son of Silas Clint Adkins and Lillie Gibson Adkins, who are deceased.
He was a retired coal miner and had lived in the Windrock area since the age of 5.
He was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. Mr. Adkins enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping.
Mr. Adkins is survived by his wife of 45 years, Evaleen
SEIBER Adkins; his daughters, Pamela Yaste and Connie Duncan and her husband, Terry, all of Oliver Springs, and Lisa Yvonne Sexton and her husband, Rick, of Coalfield; his sons, Scott Adkins of Oliver Springs, Randall Adkins and his wife, Frances, of Clinton, and Michael Adkins and his wife, Tasha, of Coalfield; and four sisters, Masel Leach of Georgia, Wanda Hardin of Wartburg, Mary Aslinger of Oliver Springs and Gayla Adkins of Pennsylvania.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ricky Sexton, Trisha Griffith, Meresa Sexton, Kasey Yaste, Jessica Yaste, Miranda Adkins and Tabitha Adkins; his great-granddaughter, Haley Griffith; and his step-grandsons, Robby Daugherty and Andrew Norton.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers, Ruby Jean Webb, Virgil Adkins and Freddie Ray Adkins.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Union Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve
SEIBER and the Rev. Luke Kidwell officiating.
Burial will follow at Butler Cemetery in Oliver Springs.

Myrtle C. BARRY

Myrtle C. Barry, 84, of Oliver Springs, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mrs. Barry was born March 7, 1917, in Anderson County, the daughter of West P. Duncan and Myra
SEIBER Duncan.
She was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs and was involved with the church's Bible print ministry. She taught piano lessons and served as the church's musician. Mrs. Barry also taught Sunday school for 35 years.
She was the widow of Walter Joseph Barry.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Sergeant and her husband, Ken, of Murfreesboro; her sons, Joseph W. Barry and his wife, Saundra, of Lynchburg, Va., and Ron Barry and his wife, Johnnie, of Knoxville; her grandchildren, Debbie Jones, Kim Newman, Steve Barry, Mary Hopper, Barry Sergeant, Scott Barry and Kimberly Steen; and her great-grandchildren, Alyssa Jones, Brianna Jones, Tyler Newman and Wesley Newman. Mrs. Barry is also survived by her brothers, Raymond Duncan and his wife, Johnnie, of Kingston, and Burlie Duncan and his wife, Laverne, and Alfred Duncan and his wife, Pansy, all of Oliver Springs; and her sisters, Ina Cox, Sue Duncan and Floella Brummitt and her husband, Carl, all of Oliver Springs.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, Kathleen Jackson, Loretta Duncan, Sanford Duncan, J.D. Duncan and Onard Duncan.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, April 30, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Garvan Walls and the Rev. Keith Price officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the church.

The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, May 4, in the chapel of Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City. The Rev. Don Jordan and the Rev. Justin Phillips will officiate.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Campbell Memorial Gardens in LaFollette.

Raymond E. MARTIN
U.S. Army veteran

Raymond E. Martin, 75, of Clinton, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Martin was born Sept. 9, 1925, in Anderson County, the son of Harrison and Sallie
SEIBER Martin.
He was a paratrooper with the U.S. Army during World War II and received three Purple Hearts. He also served with the Army during peace times.
Mr. Martin was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Clinton.
He is survived by his daughters, Connie Jean Eden and her husband, Bill, of Huntsville, Ala., Patti Tirey of Clinton and Pam Webster and her husband, Mike, of Oliver Springs; his son, Timmy Martin and his wife, Sherry, of Clinton; a daughter-in-law, Pat Martin of Clinton; his sister, Myrtle Wise of Clinton; and two brothers, Claude Martin of Clinton and Howard Martin of Knoxville.
Mr. Martin is also survived by his grandchildren, Melissa Mays, Angie McGee, Karin Martin, Allan Martin, Christopher Martin, Michael Martin, Winter Tirey, Crystal Tirey, Jessica Webster and Beth Webster; his great-grandchildren, Bryson Martin, Mackenzie Martin, Kinley Martin, Jeannie McGee, Kyle Tirey and Joseph Tirey; and by a niece, Edna Farmer of Clinton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister, Jim Martin, Roy Martin, Floyd Martin and Laura Farmer.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Clinton.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery with full military rites conducted by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, July 5, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.

Osco 'Bosco' E. Trammell Jr.
Lake City resident

Osco "Bosco" E. Trammell Jr., 54, of Lake City, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Trammell was a member of Franklin Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline
SEIBER Trammell; three sons, Doug Beglin of Memphis, Michael Beglin and his wife, Ruby, of Lebanon, Ohio, and Brian Snodgrass and his wife, Mandi, of Dayton, Ohio; one daughter, Jennifer Carpenter of Lebanon, Ohio; two grandchildren, Heather Beglin and Hannah Beglin, both of Lebanon; two sisters, Brenda Russell and Debra Trammell, both of Dayton, Ohio; and a half-sister, Diane Trammell of Chicago, Ill.
He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Ruth Bailey of New River.
Charles and Brenda Whitaker of Cincinnati, Ohio, were considered special friends.
Mr. Trammell was preceded in death by his parents, Osco E. and Reba Copley Trammell, and another son, Matthew Wayne Trammell.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 9, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City.

The Rev. William L. 'W.L.' MOORE
Baptist minister, retired coal miner

The Rev. William L. "W.L." Moore, 61, of Coalfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge following a short illness with cancer.
Born Aug. 16, 1940, in Petros, he was the son of Clifford T. and Nellie R. Moore, who are deceased.
Mr. Moore had lived in Morgan County all his life. He was a minister for 21 years and had served as pastor at Indian Creek, Corbin Hill and Elverton Primitive Baptist churches.
He was a retired coal miner who had worked at Fork Mountain, Tenn-Coal and Windrock Coal.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 41 years, Wanda Moore; three daughters, Thelma Rose
SEIBER and her husband, Hubert, of Wartburg, Joyce Ann Abshire and her husband, Jesse, of Coalfield and Lois Ann Campbell and her husband, Charles, of Harriman; and three sons, James Dean Moore and his wife, Tena, of Clinton, William Darrell Moore and his wife, Linda, and Michael Jason Moore and his wife, Nikki, all of Coalfield.
Mr. Moore is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Jeff, Megan, Chris, Dustin, Matthew, Cody, Charles, Jennifer, Adam, Daniel, LeiAnn and Brandon; two great-grandsons, Guage and Wesley; two brothers, Lonzo Moore and his wife, Violet, of Petros, and Sammy Joe Moore of Rockwood; and four sisters, Eulene "Sis" Lee of Knoxville, Faye Elmore and her husband, Lester, of Petros, Patsy Gouge and her husband, Jimmy, of Coalfield and Emma Lou Bunch of Florida.
Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Arvena Bedford of Coalfield; a sister-in-law, Edna Gallaher and her husband, Ronald, of Oliver Springs; and a brother-in-law, Tommy Bedford and his wife, Robin, of Coalfield.
The Rev. Rue Eskridge of Rockwood was considered a special friend.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Rose Bunch, and three brothers, James Ray Moore, Manuel Creekmore and Louie David Creekmore.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. The Rev. Roger Buck, the Rev. Grover Adkins and the Rev. Rue Eskridge will officiate.
The burial and graveside service will follow at Jackson Cemetery of Coalfield.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at the funeral home.

Richard Sharp, 37, of Lake City, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Sharp was affiliated with the Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Patty
SEIBER Sharp; a daughter and son, Danielle Sharp and Richard Lee Sharp; his parents, Richard and Fay Sharp; and a brother, David Sharp, all of Lake City.
He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Elzie and Verdie Shannon of Lake City; and by other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Walter and Cora Sharp.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Oct. 5, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with the Rev. Leon Fritts and the Rev. Houston Carroll officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Jared Trey
SEIBER, 18, of 3688 Old Middlesboro Highway, Speedwell, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Jacksboro.
Mr.
SEIBER was the son of Bill and Jennifer Sparks SEIBER of Speedwell. His mother is an employee of Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
He enjoyed golf and tennis, according to his family, who said he loved all his family and friends, especially girls. He was a member of Braden's Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr.
SEIBER is survived by his grandparents, T.J. and Jimmie Sue Sparks of Speedwell and Mae and Clyde SEIBER of LaFollette; his great-grandmothers, Leecy Sparks of Speedwell and Cecil Parrott of LaFollette; and by several other relatives.
The funeral was held Sunday, Oct. 7, at Braden Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. J.C. Monday, the Rev. Derek Edwards and the Rev. Trevor Bean officiating.
Burial followed at the church cemetery.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Building Fund at Braden Chapel Baptist Church.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home in LaFollette handled the arrangements.

Claude CAMPBELL Jr.
Oliver Springs native

Claude Campbell Jr. of Oliver Springs died on his 76th birthday, Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, in West Virginia at the home of one of his daughters
Mr. Campbell was born in 1925 in the Frost Bottom community of Oliver Springs, the son of Claude R. and Joann Duncan Campbell, who are deceased.
He joined the U.S. Navy on Dec. 22, 1943 and served as a seaman second class during World War II. Mr. Campbell received the Purple Heart, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars and the Asia-Pacific Area Ribbon with three Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged on June 7, 1946.
He was a member of Calvary's Temple Worship Center in Harriman.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his son, Dennis Campbell and his wife, Wanda, of Miamisburg, Ohio; two daughters, Deborah Legg and her husband, Carl, of Ona, W.Va., and Virginia Gue and her husband, Steven, of Salt Rock, W.Va.; a brother, Meredith H. Campbell and his wife, Geneva, of Clinton; and a sister, Martha B.
SEIBER of Oliver Springs.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, Aaron Campbell, Jason Campbell, Shasta Campbell, Stephanie Lancaster, Candace Gue and Wesley Gue; three great-grandchildren, Clay Campbell, Zachary Lancaster and Brittany Lancaster; and a niece he considered special, Linda Pride.
Alice Singletary was considered a special friend.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Campbell.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, in the chapel of Oliver Springs Mortuary with the Rev. Tim Bradshaw officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Anderson Memorial Gardens, 640 Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton. Full military rites will be conducted.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.

Basil E. 'Scoby' WARD
Retired Y-12 machinist

Basil E. "Scoby" Ward, 78, of Petros, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at the Lifecare Center of Morgan County, with his wife and daughter at his side.
Mr. Ward retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems in 1988 as a machinist at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant after 38 years of service.
Prior to working in Oak Ridge, he was the owner of Petros Cafe, a family-owned and -operated business, during the 1950s and 1960s.
Mr. Ward was a Baptist. His family said he had accepted the Lord into his life.
He was a member of the Sunrise Chapter No. 364 of the Order of Eastern Star; a 50-year member of the Black Diamond Masonic Lodge No. 625, F&AM, of Petros; a 32nd-degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite; and a member of the Shriners Kerbela Temple.
Mr. Ward was the son of Henry Beecher and Ora Lou Adkisson Ward, who are deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
His family said he will be remembered for his love of bluegrass music, trains, picture-taking and mountain riding in his old Willy's Jeep and later in a four-wheel-drive truck.
Mr. Ward is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lida Liles Ward; three children, Patricia Harris, Alice Dagley and Darrell Ward and his wife, Ann, all of Petros; four grandchildren, Tonya Dagley Scarbro and special friend Richie Curtain, Kendall Harris and his fianc�e, Teresa Everett, and Tony Dagley and his wife, Crystal, all of Petros, and Wayne Ward and his wife, Carmen, of Wartburg; and eight great-grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Jacob, Zachery, Isaac, Madison, Sarah and Mackenzie.
He is also survived by four sisters, Inela Phillips of Oliver Springs, Lula
SEIBER and Shelba Trail and her husband, Baxter, all of Petros, and Delores Redmon and her husband, L.E., of Wartburg; two sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Tucker and Betty Wright and her husband, B.J., of Petros; a brother-in-law, Newt Silvey of Oliver Springs; and an aunt, Ada Adkisson Peters of Orlando, Fla.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ward was preceded in death by two brothers, Ross Ward and Roland Ward; a son-in-law, Kenneth Harris; and a daughter-in-law, Sheena Ward.
A Masonic service will be held at 8 tonight, Oct. 25, in the chapel of Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. The funeral, with the Rev. Don Daugherty officiating, will follow.
A graveside service with military rites will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Petros Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darrell Ward, Wayne Ward, Kendall Harris, Tony Dagley, Matthew Dagley, Jacob Harris, Zachery Ward and Mark Anthony Noe. Honorary pallbearers are Harvey Lee Cox, Dean Justice, Vernon Stewart, Robert Duncan, Reece Liles, Boyd Franklin, B.J. Hill and James Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
