Elmer WILSON
Construction carpenter

Elmer Wilson, 59, of Oliver Springs, died at 9:15 a.m. Monday, April 28, 1997, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Wilson had worked as a carpenter in the construction business for 35 years.
He was born in Campbell County on April 9, 1938, the son of Ferdon and Lula Poore Wilson, both now deceased. He had lived in Oliver Springs since 1959.
Mr. Wilson was a member of Big Mountain Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve
SEEBER Wilson; three daughters, Cathy Elaine Davis and her husband, Christopher, of Rochester, Minn., Charlotte Hilton and her husband, Robert, of Heiskell, and Linda Gail Powers and her husband, Bobby Powers Jr., of Oliver Springs; and four grandchildren, Deven Brooks, James Brooks, Jacob Powers and Briana Hilton.
Mr. Wilson is also survived by six sisters, Mary Ellen Smith and Margaret Brazell, both of Ravenna, Ohio, Alice Marlow and Carolyn Belcher, both of Dayton, Ohio, Betty Daugherty of Briceville and Florine Caylor of Lake City; and two brothers, J.D. Wilson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Perly Wilson of Wartburg. Another brother, Donnie Mack Wilson, died earlier.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, April 29, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. David Coffman officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Billy Barton CARDEN
Owned mobile home park

Billy Barton Carden, 71, of Clinton, died Monday, May 12, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Carden was the owner of Woodhaven Mobile Home Park in the Bethel community of Clinton. He was retired from Oak Ridge Associated Universities.
He was born in Lake City on May 18, 1925, the son of Ernest and Eliza Carden, both now deceased. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific.
Mr. Carden was a member of South Clinton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Fielden Carden; two daughters, Karen Horton and her husband, James R. Horton, and Janice Jobe, all of Clinton; a son-in-law, James E. Jobe of Lake City; two sisters, Ernest Lou Carden and Margaret Carden, both of Clinton; and three brothers, Everette Carden of Heiskell and Leo Frank Carden and Bobby Joe Carden, both of Clinton.
Mr. Carden is also survived by six grandchildren, Jaime, Jacob and Jade Jobe and Julia, Jana and James Horton, all of Clinton; and by several nieces and nephews.  A sister, Wilma Grace
SEEBER, died earlier.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Raymond Sanderson officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

SEEBER, 83, of Oliver Springs, died Friday morning, May 16, 1997, at her home.
Mrs. SEEBER is survived by six daughters, Geneva Bunch and her husband, Raven, of Clinton, Bobbie Whaley and her husband, Elmer, and Ruby Tackett and her husband, Carl, all of Caryville, Faye Wilson and her husband, Claude, and Margaret Barber and her husband, Lee, all of Lake City, and Pat Daugherty and her husband, Larry, of Oliver Springs; and two sons, Frank Phillips and his wife, Wilma, of Oliver Springs, and Troy Phillips and his wife, Bernice, of Lake City.
She is also survived by two stepdaughters, Lynette
SEEBER and Marilyn SEEBER, both of Oliver Springs; three sisters, Maxie Reed and her husband, Gene, of Oliver Springs, Tinsey Phillips of Lake City and Minnie Parker of Briceville; and a brother, Roy Galbraith of Briceville.
The funeral was to be held at 2 today, May 19, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. John Lynn Randolph officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Bluff Cemetery.
Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City handled arrangements.

Mattie Patterson Sweat, 97, of Lake City, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997, at Beech Manor Nursing Home in Jellico.
Mrs. Sweat is survived by two daughters, Blanche
SEEBER of Lake City and Ella Mae Sutton of Duff; and by two sisters, Oma Phillips of Oliver Springs and Elsie Huckaby of Clinton.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, at Guiding Star Baptist Church in Lake City with the Rev. Jack Taylor and the Rev. Johnny Randolph officiating. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City.
