About Me
Julie graduated from Whatcom Community College with an Associates in Arts and Sciences in Spring 2000.  She is currently finishing her Bachelor of Arts-Human Services at Western Washington University with a tentative graduation date of June 2003.  Upon graduation, she would like to pursue a Masters in Education Degree in School Counseling.

Julie just completed her time as an intern in the Lynden School District Family~Community Services, where she interned for the past 5 quarters. There she took on the responsibility to initiate and complete task with little assistance or supervision.  She took pride in her ability to work as a team player as demonstrated through her work with Big Brothers Big Sisters as well as the Summer Tutoring Program.  She understands the importance of promoting multi-culturalism while working with clients.

Her love for working with youth in crisis extends through her internship into her job as a youth care worker at the Birch Bay House Crisis Residential Center.  Here she provides support to youth in transition.  Julie has attended multiple trainings extending from mediation to medical trainings.  She takes pride in her ability to secure a nurturing relationship that provides the clients a sense of secureness and realization that their experiences will remain confidential.

Julie also takes the time to coach basketball.  She began as an assistant coach to a middle school AAU girls team is now an assistant junior varsity/varsity coach at Squalicum Middle School.  In her position as a basketball coach, Julie promotes positive self regard as well as the simple belief in oneself.  Her future ambition is to become a head varsity coach at a local high school.
