Accepting a Losing Team not With our History?
We skins fans are in the stages and going thought the motions of going from Super bowl perennials to the Cincinnati Bengals. The motions which I speak of are the grieving stages, Denial, Guilt, Frustration, Anger, Bargaining and finally acceptance. I personally never what to Accept this, this, abomination. I don't want to be the Bengals. They have rolled over and played dead they are on the verge of being forgotten- they have accepted sucking. I want to be where the Cowboys are at Frustration. If you can get at least Frustrated than at least that means you still have a semblance of hope-a ray of light that the team can turn it around- if only...if only. When Cooke died he was at a high level of denial, the same as Cassley and Turner, he said almost monotonously " Turner is the NFL's best coach", " He will lead us to many playoffs", " There will be many Super bowls to come.". Snyder moved from Anger to Bargaining- willing to pay for old free agents and try and capture the glory of days gone past. Some players and fans are creeping toward acceptance. Which is sadder for who? The team or the fans? I don't want to be Cincinnati.
