RanGen We've begun a data gathering experiment. This experiment is based off experiments done by The Global Consciousness Project. It involves the use of random number generators. During big events the seemingly random numbers would spike showing results that were much different than the normal flow. The idea is that consciousness is affecting it. So what we've done is create a computer program that will activate every single minute, and each time it activates it will loop 1000 randomly generated numbers; either a 0 or a 1 through a randomization command. If a 0 results, a -1 is counted. If a 1 results, a +1 is counted. It adds up all the counts, and records the number into a file which labels each input with the date and time, and if it was positive, neutral, or negative. Then a separate number is kept in another file that will keep track of the total balance of all the activations ever done. (Example: if during 1 activation, it gives 500 0's and 500 1's, the recorded number would be 0 since it evened out perfectly, and it would add 0 to the total balance) The program will continue to activate every minute for 1 year (as long as our computer stays on). If our computer stays on the whole time, it will have generated 525,600,000 random numbers. That gives a nice stretch to show some pretty accurate results. We will check the results during big worldwide events, and some local events which may affect it. I'll post up any results if they appear to be significant. (Depending if we can get enough people, we may try a large group meditation to see if we can affect it.) The only difference for this experiment is that the RNG being used is running on a computer, where as the RNG's used in The Global Consciousness Project were physical. So perhaps it's unaffected. But that's why it's an experiment. We'll just have to wait and see if anything happens. This project began on November 12 @ exactly 4:07 AM EST (Which was when the very first number was saved into archive) All dates and times labeled in this project are Easter Standard Time.
