I started forging merely with a claw hammer, splitting wedge I had hammered into a treestump (That for the life of me I couldn't remove *perfect anvil*) and a little tool that I had invented all myself that I named the blow pipe (little did I know they had been in use since around the time the world began).
So now I am out to explain exactly what it is that I have spent so much of my life wrapped up in, perhaps even I can explain why it is that I am so fastinated with this process of turning complete junk into some of the most precious and functional tools and weapons that are ever made
It seems that I have both found and lost my mind at the same time. I finished school but while putting everythign i had into it everything else fell apart. nice example my sanity....
really it was not eating or sleeping for a year and keeping myself worn down.
then when testing time came up I wasn't any better so I looked like a complete idiot some how I managed to get though the testing. I don't know how but I did. I am now A&P certified That is airframe & powerplant mechanic so now I can work on aircraft and I plan on opening my own aircraft shop in the future.
My fiance' Jennifer and I are getting married. we don't know when yet or where but we are,
but that is nothing new because we have been engaged for two and a half years now.
we have been through a lot together. Things won't settle down until we are married and living together, because we never sleep unless we are together.
I just had wrist surgery last week and I won't be forging for a while, not that I get to forge at all in the winter since my forge is outside, and i don't really like frost bite very much...
My fiance' and I are involved in the Pioneer Village at Caesar's Creek State Park in Ohio.
we are blacksmiths who reenact primarily the civil war era. the pioneer village reenacts many time periods from the French and Indian War to the Civil War.

Today is the 8th of December,
I am sitting her just trying to correct typos from the first entry i have done I still have soo much to add to this page and i don't know where to go with it yet.
I did get to go outside yesterday and work on my forge some..
pretty much just lighting it up to melt the ice off of it, and to clean it up for spring.
i already have orders for some concrete scrapers for my future father inlaw he works road construction and wants somthing to scrap the concrete from small crevices so i get to make those in a month or two since he doesn't need them until spring.
and also to clear up my name SEGuardian is Sharp Edged Guardian I made it up years ago and i don't know for sure how it sounds but it stuck over the years so here I am SEG
the SMX is SEG in runes so that is why it looks like that.
it doesn't quiet fit with my pioneer reenactment etc but I started with midievel and renasaince
so that is where I got the runes from.

Well now today is actually monday August 21, 2006 and soo much has happend since i have worked on this site.
I try to write down major events in my life to keep things in perspective
now I am in the airforce I will be leaving for basic training on october 10th my wife to whom i will be married to in two weeks on september 2nd
I will finish this after i get back from the bank and make food

Well forget the update we made food and got side tracked into somthing else.
well today is september 1st. 2006
tomarrow I am getting married.
OMG! right? well My wife to be is sitting beside me making her boquet of flowers
I thought i had already said it. but we are both in the airforce and that is why our wedding is
so soon. the papers have to be processed with enough time. for us to ship out.
i will be an aerospace maintenance techinician and Jen will be repairing and seting up the ground equiptment to keep the aircraft flying.
we will be going to college also while in the airforce in our free time.
which will be nice since we don't have much money. the airforce will be providing it. it will be through the community college of the airforce
and then we can transfer to a differnet college like embry riddle or ohio state or where ever
we decide to go.
Jen is thinking of teaching and i am thinking of aerospace engineering, metallurgy or becomming a music instructor.
all i really know is that i Love her with all of my heart and nothing is right hwen i am away from her. and the lord is working in our lives and we will end up right where he wants us.
well tomarrow i get to see a good friend of mine from highschool. I havent seen him in a year and a half. plus Jen gets to see a friend of hers from highschool too
it was a nice surprise to get to see everyone again.
this whole wedding was put together over 2 weeks and we aren't sure still how everything will turn out
it is supose to be outside but now it is supose to rain and we have too many older people there to be out in the cold.
so rather than being in a church it will be in out churches fellowship hall which is still under renovation. but it is a simple service.
well not much is new as far as knives go.
but it has been a while since i have updated the knife pictures
i have a knife i made my sweet heart which is wire rope with a roller bearing core. Black walnut on the front half of the handle with leather and copper spacers and a deer bone on the back half. i will post a picture good lord willing. in a week or two.

Todays is Monday september 4th year of our lord two thousand and six
we just came to Jens house after the fleamarket. we had to take the sugar gliders back to the lady we got them from because the person who was taking care of them decided that he had other things more important to do. which it understandable because they are a lot of responsibility.

it has been two days since we got married. it all worked out well..
it was confusing especially the part when Jen walked down the aisle and then the music started to play and then we had to stand there and wait for the song to end and it seemed like an eternity. it was cold and misting rain. But since we ended up having it inside the horseshoe crab after all it ended up being warm especially after all the people got inside it.
The horseshoe crab is a fiberglass dome that will hold up to 70 ppl inside. it was designed by the people who made scenes for startrek and other movies. anyway i will post a link to the website of our church when the website is finished and it will explain the significance of this horseshoe crab and what it is all about.
overall the wedding was nice noone knew what was going on..
and the reception was good too

and we got pizza, later they left and the rest if the night we had to ourselves.
we checked out right on time. and then went to my house (which is my parents house).
and cuddled and recovered from the lack of sleep from the previous night.
then we met up with out church who was having a big get together.
we were the last people to leave and but I got almost enough charcoal from the banfire to make 2 damascus knives. which would take me an entire day to get the wood and burn it down to charcoal then let it cool etc.. and i got it all and only had to fill up two buckets of water and dump over the fire...
i am going back tomarrow to get the charcoals.
well that is a lot of stuff and lots of bad spelling..

well today is the 3rd of october. i am sitting at a holiday inn in columbus ohio waiting to go to meps to see my wife off to basic training.
I really hope i get through this ok. I mean i know we will be alright but me standing there watching her walk away to get on the bus is going to kill me.
i have spend everysingle day with her for the lasy three years.
we have been married 4 weeks as of last saturday (this is tuesday morning at like 06:51
we got up at 0400 and3 then she got on a bus to MEPS her mom and i will see her at MEPS when she swe\ars in.
It shouldn't be too bad but it still think it will be hard on us.
i leave next week. I am still triing to get that to sink in, after waiting an entire year next week i leave and go to texas. The only thing i wish is that we could take our notebook computers to basic with us so we can have them in tech school.
we have to wait until the 4th week in tech training to be allowed to have them.
so we will have our cell phones. with us so it won't be too bad but i don't want to have to ship the computers. .
we will be home for christmas for 1 week. I pray that we end up together on \Christmas.
I'd imagine that we would be home on Christmas day.. so if we both are home on christmas then we should be together then right? well i am praying for no surprizes..
I have a week to clean my room and pack my stuff up and get ready to go. i have everything i need i just need to organize it. and box everything else up and throw everything else out.
