Welcome to the tips page. this isa really big tips page with tips for all the sonic games I have already reviewed. enjoy.
SONIC 1
CONTROL MODE
On the title screen, push Up, C, Down, C, Left, C, Right. If you don't hear a chime, press C four times, then press Up, Down, Left, Right. If you hear a chime the code is correct. This code allows you to do extra stuff. while the game is paused press A to reset the game, B to play in slow-mo or C to make the game run one frame at a time!
DRUNKEN SONIC
When viewing the demo hold A+B+C. Sonic will go mental in the demo and get hit by enemies e.t.c
LEVEL SELECT
On the title screen, press UP, Down, Left, Right. You should hear a chime. Now hold A and press Start to select a level.
SONIC 2
CHANGE TAILS TO MILES ABOVE LIVES
Press, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Up at the title screen.
LEVEL SELECT
Go to options menu and go to the sound select option play these following sounds in order
19, 65, 09, 17
Once thats done press C and then Start to go back to the title screen. When you see sonic and tails appear hold A and Start to get to the level select
GET SUPER SONIC EASILY
When in the level select menu go to sound select option and play the following sounds in order
04, 01, 02, 06
If a chime sounds you have super sonic! collect 50 rings and jump and press A to get him.
SONIC 3
LEVEL SELECT AND SOUND TEST
Press Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up,Up before the title screen but after the SAY-GA bit. you must enter this while the screen is black. This is very hard to pull off. You will hear a chime if you pull this off. At the title screen press Up once to find this option (the sound select and level select)
INFINITE LIFES
On the launch base zone sound an alarm so that those bird things come at you. Continuously soeed dash between the alarm so that the birds keep hitting off you. You will eventually get enough points for a life. Just keep doing this for loads of lives.
HIDDEN SPECIAL STAGE
After gettin the sound select option play the following sounds in order
01, 03, 05, 07
Highlight special stage 2 in the level select and press A+Start
SONIC AND KNUCKLES
BONUS STAGE TRICK
Put any non sonic game in and hold A+B+C when the NO WAY message pops up eith the four characters underneath. You will get a bonus stage from sonic 3! (if you have a 3 in 1 cartridge you get 3 special stages)
LEVEL SELECT WIF SONIC 2 IN
At the title screen press Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right. hold A+start to get level select.
LEVEL SELECT WIF SONIC 3 IN
Go to Angel island (start a game) and grab on to one of them swingy things. While sonic is swinging (or tails/knucks) Press Left, Left, Left, Right, Right, Right, Up, Up, Up. if it was correct you will hear a chime. pause the game and press A to get to the title screen. Press Up twice to find the option.
LEVEL SELECT WIF NOTHING IN (on its own)
In Mushroom Hill Zone, while hanging off one of the pulling machines, press left three times, right three times, and up three times. You should hear the ring sound. Pause and press A to be taken to the title screen. Highlight either Sonic or knuckles as your character, and press start while holding A. The menu shows all levels in the game, but some are specific to a certain character, so you can't play those if you picked an incompatible character. Any time you want to exit and select a different level, just repeat the code from right after the pulling machine part.
SONIC SPINBALL
LEVEL SELECT CODE
First, Access the Options from the title screen. On the Options Menu, take controller one and press these buttons in this order: A, DOWN, B, DOWN, C, DOWN, A, B, UP, A, C, UP, B, C, UP. If you did it correctly, you will hear a special sound. Go back to the title screen and hold button A and press START for Level 2, B and press START for Level 3, and C and press START to begin on level 4.

HIDDEN PC STUFF
You can find some cool hidden Sonic Adventure arts made by SonicTeam themselves by putting the GD-ROM inside the computer's CD-ROM drive. Access the folder inside it and view the .bmp pictures there!
HIDDEN VMU
Before you turn on the Dreamcast, put a controller with a VMU into port D. When you turn on the Dreamcast with Sonic Adventure in it, you'll be able to play a hidden game called Chao Puzzle.

| Beat Route 101 or Route 208 to open 1 Player Kart Race. | |||||
| 2P Kart Race | |||||
| Beat either Kart Race Action Stage (Route 101 or Route 208), then beat the other to open 2 Player Kart Race. | |||||
| Alternate way for an 'A' Ranking | |||||
| There is another way to get an 'A' Ranking in the game's levels. And that is to complete the level with every ring collected. Is you do this, you should get a 'Pefect' stamp on the Ring Count when you complete the level and a guaranteed 'A' rank. | |||||
| Chao Hat | |||||
| To get a hat for your chao go into a garden as Knuckles or Rouge and dig around untill you find one. | |||||
| Clean Pause | |||||
| Press start to pause the game and press the X and Y buttons at the same time to get a clean pause screen. | |||||
| Clean Pause | |||||
| Pause the game and hold (X) and (Y) to clear the game of the pause screen. This only works on controller A. | |||||
| Clone a Chao | |||||
| You will need 2 memory cards with atleast 128 blocks on each. First take the chao you want to clone out on one of the VMU. The either e-mail yourself a copy(or to a friend) or just copy in the file manager of the dreamcast. The File is Sonic2____VM. Now you have two of the same chao. | |||||
| Dark Boss Attack | |||||
| Beat the game with the Dark Side to unlock Boss Attack in 1P Play. Boss Attack is basically a Time Attack to see how quickly you can beat all bosses on the Dark Side. | |||||
| Free Chao | |||||
| To get more Chao in your gardens, just do
this: Take an Egg or Chao from Sonic Adventure 1, put in
in a VMU, and then go into any Chao Garden in Sonic
Adventure 2, and take the Chao out there. You'll get a
Sonic Adventure 2 Chao egg! WARNING: You can only go forwards, not back. Chao taken out in SA2 become eggs, regardless of whatever they were before, and can NEVER be returned to SA1. |

| Unlock the Hero Garden, the Dark Garden, and beat the all Beginner's Races to unlock two special race modes, Hero Race and Dark Race. | |||||

| Beat the game with the Hero Side to unlock Boss Attack in 1P Play. Boss Attack is basically a Time Attack to see how quickly you can beat all bosses on the Hero Side. | |||||
| Hidden Artwork | |||||
| Insert the Sonic Adventure 2 GD-ROM into any PC CD-ROM drive. In the root directory there is hidden artwork to put on your desktop. | |||||
| How to make Sonic run instead of streetboard in level 1 | |||||
| After you've finished the streetboard sequence, find a wall and make Sonic hurt himself by running into it. Immediatley after Sonic see's stars, press start and then restart the level. Sonic will fall out the sky without the board on his feet. | |||||
| Keep upgrades without finishing level | |||||
| After getting your upgrade exit the level. After leaving the level go to stage select and go to any level that is easy and quick for you complete. After completing the level the game saves your upgrade. | |||||
| Last Boss Attack | |||||
| Beat the game with the Last Side to unlock Boss Attack in 1P Play. Boss Attack is basically a Time Attack to see how quickly you can beat the bosses on the Last Side. | |||||
| More Chao Gardens | |||||
| Raise a Hero Chao to unlock the Hero Garden. Raise a Dark Chao to unlock the Dark Garden. | |||||
| New Chao Races | |||||
| Beat all 3 levels of the 4 Beginner Races (Crab Pool, Stump Valley, Mushroom Forest, and Block Canyon) to open Jewel Race and Challenge Race. | |||||
| New Looks | |||||
| Beat ALL of a character's missions to get a new look in 2 Player VS Mode. | |||||
| New toys for Chao's | |||||
| Beat the 3 Crab Pool Races to win a
shovel. Beat the 3 Stump Valley Races to win an elephant watering can. Beat the 3 Mushroom Forest Races to win a rattle. Beat the 3 Block Canyon Races to win a toy car. |

| Phantasy Star Online Costumes | |||||
| For Sonic, successfully complete all of his missions (not including ''Cannon's Core''). You will receice a message saying that you have completed all of Sonic's missions and that you have also unlocked a secret costume. Go to versus mode, select your stage or versus type, but before that press right and you will see a diffrent picture of Sonic. Once the versus mode begins sonic's costume will look like the red HUmar from Phantasy Star Online. The code is the same for Shadow, except his costume is a red HUcast. | |||||

| Beat all of Tails' levels with an A rank and now you can play as it in versus mode. | |||||

| Win at least one race from each of the Aquamarine, Garnet, Peridot, and Topaz Chao Races to unlock the Onyx & Diamond Chao Races. | |||||

| To unlock the Final Stage, Cannon's Core, first beat the Hero and Dark Sides in 1-Player Story Mode. Then the Last Side option will be available in Story Mode. | |||||

| To get the Chao TV, win the 12th race in the Challange Races. You will find a little TV for your Chao in the Chao Garden. | |||||

| To get this toy for your Chao, win the
'Pumpkin Group' race. (Challenge Race No.8) After you do this, you'll find a jack-in-the-box in the Chao Garden. |

| Win a Rocking Horse | |||||
| To get a rocking horse for your Chao, you must win Hero Race No.4, the 'Devil vs. Angel' race. Once you do this, you'll get a rocking horse for your Chao in the Hero Garden. | |||||
| Win Chao Ball | |||||
| To win the Chao ball, you must beat Challange Race #4 in the Chao Races, the ''Small Animal'' race. If you come in first place, you will win a ball for your Chao, and an emblem. You will find the ball in the Chao Garden. | |||||
| Win Chao Ball for Dark Garden | |||||
| To win the Chao Ball for the Dark Garden, come in first place in the second Dark Race. You will find a new, creepy looking Chao Ball in the Dark Garden. | |||||

| In the Hero Race, win the 2nd race to win a Chao Ball for your Hero Garden. | |||||

To play as sonic with tails behind you got to the character selectscreen and press Up, Right, Down, Right, L shoulder, Right, R shoulder. select sonic and if you here a ring noise then you get tails behind you!!!

hold down Action, accelerate and change view then press start
NICK THE PURPLE EMERALD
Use sonic in radical city. Keep to the main course instead of going to the pinball area.You will pass a 50 ring door. Run past it. At the 90 degree right turn, turn left, double jump onto the platform, run forward til you reach the emerald then turn around to continue the race and make sure that you come in 1st place.
ZOOM ON COURSE SELECT
Press up and down at the course selection to zoom in or out.
