Sonic the hedgehog was the first game for the mega drive. It has all the original ideas that have been copied in later games. The best zone, starlight zone is in it too. This zone is good because you can speed around the place and it's so damn fun. The level design of this game is fantastic and the bosses are all original although easy. This game introduced the mighty blue sphere to everyone and was brilliant at the time. I have however only acquired it recently though by swapping it for an old pair of glasses (bargain.) Heres the review then.

LEVELS

Some of the best level design in many a game. It keeps you coming back for more and the last two zones are somethin special. 10/10

BOSSES

All the old cliches that have been used again and again. The only complained is that the last boss is too easy. It may be original but the 4th boss is harder! Not a patch on sonic 2 bosses but still brill. 9/10

MUSIC

Now that starlight music is quite somethin and so are zones 2 and 6. Zone 3 gets on your nerves mind 9/10

REPLAYABILITY

This game has loads of replayability oozing out of it! The fact that the levels are so addictive and theres them emeralds to get, this game'll last ya a good month or two. 9/10

TOTAL: It may be a smidge easy and robotnik doesn't put up much of a fight but the last two zones are possibly the best two zones in any sonic game and the replay factor is an awful lot. I fyou only have one game on your mega drive, this should be it.
