The second outing for the speedy blue hedgehog. This game was more of the same with plenty of new ideas thrown in. It had more levels than other sonic games and was agood challenge. The bosses were also challenging for the first time and the introduction of super sonic made this game fantastic. Also Tails is now playable as a two player game or to help you in the one player either controlled by human or computer. This game was a worthy sequel to sonic 1 and was the first sonic game I got. Now, the review . . .

LEVELS

Loads of em. There are ten levels with two acts per one. (with one exception in that green coloured zone I can't remember the name of. Anyway it was the hardest zone with 3 acts.) The design was very good with the first zone similar to sonic 1. My fav zone was the casinopolis zone cos of the pinball elements. The level design wasn't quite as good as sonic 1 but because of the ideas like the powerful springs in oil ocean and the amount of em it has to get top marks. 10/10

BOSSES

The bosses in this were absolutely class. The last boss is way more challenging than the sonic 1 boss as he's real hard to beat and the introduction of metal sonic was a great idea. The third zone boss was also a good idea with jumping up arrows and hitting the boss. The best boss is metal sonic though. And the best ever boss music in a game. 10/10

MUSIC

Most of the music in this ain't that special. The boss music is absolutely brilliant though and thats what gives the marks here. If it were like sonic 1 boss music I don't think there'd be a scotre here at all 7/10

REPLAYABILITY

This game has good replay value. getting super sonic is very challenging and there are an awful lot of levels. However there are no stand out levels like starlight zone or scrap brain. The casinopolis level is good and the sky level is fun but there ain't no level that grabs your attention to make you want to play it again. Having said that it's a great game and very challenging. 9/10

TOTAL

More of the same but with the best bosses ever and some great new ideas. No standout levels or good level music mind. There is also the introduction of the speed dash. if you hold down, tap the b button and let go sonic flies of at 300+ miles per hour.
