Costa
Rica Adventure
March 5-20, 2005
The
idea for the trip to Costa Rica began with an idle MSN conversation with
Cathy last September. With last July’s trip to Israel over and
done with, I was itching to begin planning the next adventure. I casually
mentioned an interest in Costa Rica, and Cathy mentioned that she had some
upcoming vacation time and had loved Costa Rica on a previous trip, and that
was all it took. The idea was born. A couple of weeks later, a visit to Travel Cuts netted us some glitzy brochures,
which we studied over scrumptious hot chocolates at Juliette et Chocolat. (Mmmmm… sinful… but I digress.) Both of us wanted to go on a tour. I’ve discovered I love tour travel,
because it allows me to meet great people, pack a lot into a short time
period, and relax and enjoy a vacation without having to worry about
arranging all the details. Cathy agreed, and we checked into various options,
ultimately opting for the GAP Adventures
16-day Costa Rica Adventure
tour. It sounded great. Pacific and Caribbean coasts. Nature hikes.
Rainforests. Beautiful beaches. Active volcanoes. Horseback riding. It was
hard to read that and not get excited.
Itinerary
of the Costa Rica Adventure tour A flurry of preparation took up part of October.
Arranging time off from work. Searching for and booking the cheapest possible
flights. Finding room on various credit cards to pay for it all. Finally, we
were booked, and all that was left to do was wait… and anticipate. Next: Arrival in
San José. |
