This is the first convention of any kind I've ever been to.
It won't be the last!
I had a ball. I even cosplayed - I'll be doing that again
too. Anyway, here's
a little gallery of the pictures I took.
First, here's my costume, Kite from .hack. I picked it for a
few reasons: I like .hack, it wasn't too hard to make, and it comes with a
backpack
so I can lug my stuff around (that came in handy). I got a lot of
compliments and photo-ops out of it, so I guess it turned out OK :)
And here's my friend Mary, who made the whole thing possible
by inviting us to share a hotel room.
On the left as Allan Shezar from Escaflowne (not Fushigi Yuugi as I had written before. My bad.),
and on the right in
a Vietnamese traditional outfit.
And here's the whole gang.
Oddly, there weren't that many .hack characters running
around. I spotted exactly three:
another Kite, a Tsukasa, and a Mistral.
There was a .hack panel where they were discussing rumors
about .hack//G.U. which was just announced
and the novel that's finally being translated. It was fun being "Kite" in a
.hack panel; "Tsukasa" was there too,
and they called on us by character name ^_^
The most represented series was Naruto, but most of the
costumes weren't anything to write home about.
Maybe people do them because they're easy? I dunno. This is the only one I
thought was worth taking a picture of.
Inu Yasha was also well represented, including this
Sesshoumaru.
Best. Costume. Ever.
I'm not sure who the hell these people are dressed as, but those are some cool costumes.
Two Alucards. Just thinking about that scares me.
This Klingon was doing crowd control. It's not strictly anime, but still a cool look. The shades are a nice touch.
A trio of Shinsengumi. Aku Soku Zan!
Yue, from Cardcaptor Sakura, with the most amazing costume wings Ive ever seen.
A few personal favorites:
Fullmetal Alchemist.
Vash the Stampede.
Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh.
Shuichi from Gravitation.
Ayame Sohma from Fruits Basket.
Mog from FF6. Kupo!
And that's my Anime North gallery. See you next time!
