Name Origin: A nickname of mine that developed from the fact a friend of mine says I look like Zoisite from Sailor Moon (this was before we found out she is really a he in the original series, which became even funnier, since she also claims I am a total tomboy.)
Zoey is a veritable child prodigy, the kind in all of the advanced classes, bored to tears because it goes at too slow a pace for her, but pretending to be interested just the same. She does have friends, who may or may not be making an appearance in the comic. Of course, they're your typical outcasts of high school society: kids who'd rather spend their time playing video games and Dungeons and Dragons than going to social events.
Name Origin: Monica was a demoness in a book series I read, a little girl and extreme trouble maker. Her full name was Demoness Monica, or D. Monica for short.
Called any other variety of names by Zoey (like the Brat, the Evil One, Demonica, and various other loving appelations), she is Zoey's nine year old sister, who likes to meddle in everything. From Zoey's projects, to friendships, to tormenting pets, this is the most meddlesome child in existence. And maybe the most demented.
Monica is a bit disturbed, though it's mainly the cause of being allowed to get away with most anything, and a serious cry for attention from her sister. She does love Zoey, but decides to display it in her own, special, twisted way. (In a way, Monica is an expression of my truly warped, morbid side of my humor.)
Name Origin: l33t for Midrange, the part of the speaker that emits the middle range of sound (also, the name of the sound). The other speaker parts are the woofer (for bass sound range) and the tweeter (for the treble).
Midrange is programmed to be as humanoid as possible, including the typical emotional range of a human teenager. Midrange does not have a buster. Instead, she has a smaller energy device just inside the palm of her hand, used in normal mode for weaker energy pulses.
While in Battle Mode, Midrange has access to stronger energy attacks, and the Baka Mallet. She has the ability to use other robots weapons, though she doesn't exactly duplicate the effects, only the type of energy. For instance, if she copied Wood Man's powers, she'd be able to use a plant-type attack, though not necessarily the leaf shield.
Name Origin: Mezzo is a musical term for moderate volume. Other relevant musical terms are piano for soft, and forte for loud. Fortissimo means very loud, usually only used in orchestrated pieces.
Mezzo is designed to be Midrange's voice of reason, to think logically when her emotions get the better of her. He may seem less emotional, but he isn't totally devoid of any emotional range, he's simply quite a bit less expressive than Midrange is.
Mezzo DOES have a Battle Mode, and a rather complex weapon system. He simply has no idea how to access it. Note that Midrange didn't either until she was told.
