we're no longer four hardcore-punk        rockers from west virginia.

2005:10.2

so... turn around norman ended at the end of our summer tour 2005. we did five weeks all over the country and back. some personal issues made it too difficult to go on. but the folks involved are still around doing their things.

at the end, turn around norman was: laura: vocals, marc (aka maps): bass, todd: guitar & vocals, jeff (aka bones): drums, and jeff: guitar & vocals

everyone is around playing in new bands: todd is in wrong day to quit (based out of new jersey) with his old bandmates tom and leigh from his the assistaint days. laura and jeff (and tim!) are in a band called arms over arteries with their pal chris. maps and bones are still at it, but as of right now i'm not sure what that is. i'll let ya know when i can.

thanks to everyone who ever hung out with us, let us sleep in their homes, gave us food, did a show, played with us, etc. you are all freakin beautiful!

i'll do more with this website sometime soon!

lvs

jeff.
[03.01.2004] Well, the most        recent incarnation of this band has come to an end. I decided to bail out        and Tim thought he might as well, too. Jeff left West Virginia this afternoon        and is heading to New Jersey to search out a job and a new rythm section,        and Laura will move there in May or some such thing. Thanks to Chase and        Deana, and Requiem (& the other bands) for the shows this weekend. Word        has it that the most recent issue of heartattack is hot off the press, and        includes an brainy interview with Laura by a mythological young gal named        Kelle. I'll update the site again when things get kicking.
[01.22.2004] So, holy crap,        we actually played at home and we actually played reasonably well. I guess        there really is a first time for some things. It was great to see so many        folks out braving the weather and such. If scheduling comes together properly        we'll try it again rather soon. We've got this little notion that we're        going to head south while Tim's education is taking a spring break. Check        the dates and cough in our direction if you want to help out setting something        up or know something we don't about what we're doing.
[01.09.2004] Shows at the        end of December went rather well. Thanks to Lynn, Ryan, Matt, Steve and        that sweetie Tom for hooking us up with these things and places to stay        and general good charm and cheer. Apologies to Chase for not being able        to overcome illness and make the jaunt to Charleston.
[12.12.2003] Holy crap it's        been a long time. I moved out to The Compound with Tim and my computer got        goofy in the process. The recovery has been slow. Important things... The        Times Are Hard for Dreamers comp is out and about now. We'll have copies        at shows coming up and one can also hassle Evan for them at Waking        Records. If I get my blasted van back together in time, not only will        we actually play these shows, but we'll have a fresh batch of t-shirts,        too.
[9.14.2003] Some rock shows        with The Clancy 6 in late August were tons of fun, and we didn't even play        too poorly. Everyone everywhere fell in love with Tim... We've been practicing        quite a bit and getting settled into our respective roles (or re-settled,        if you're referring to a certain half of the band), and even have a new        song worked up and a couple of other fresh ideas kicking around. We'll probably        start trying to play more regularly again in November, but there are some        more dates in October that might come together. I'll post them if or when        they become solid.
[7.20.2003] Hi. We have        a new bass player. His name is Tim. I (Roger) am attempting to conquer a        third instrument with this band, by sitting behind and staring awkwardly        at the drums. We're going to teach ourselves a few songs in this fashion        and pack up for a couple of weekends in August which should be fun...
[7.4.2003] ok, so we scrapped        that whole tour thing. we've submitted a re-recorded version of dying        in black and white to a friendly fellow named Evan who is putting together        a benefit comp called Times Are Hard For Dreamers. i'll cough up more details        at another point, but i'll say that comps are often pretty lame and this        one is not.
[5.8.2003] hey, i posted        lyrics        to most of songs. we're trying to see if we can't pull together a tour starting        the 23rd of july through the 17th of august... more on that very soon, because        we're going to need help.
[5.1.2003] okay, so that        benefit on sunday was great - tons of people showed up and mutiny was able        to give larry over $500 to fight against the corporate giants who destroy        appalachia as a byproduct of making money. jordan played all his parts quite        correctly - a testament to his stunning memory as we only practiced once        as a whole band and two other times in a fragmented form. we're not playing        any shows in may as we had previously planned - jeff is running to california        and back for some reason, and we'll get back to playing some music after        that. hopefully by early in june...
[4.24.2003] well, it's a        new page. you know how that crap goes. brian moved to australia. jeff moved        to pennsylvania. laura moved across town. roger didn't move. jordan is doing        a little bit of drum work with us. wanna write        to us?
hey, we're playing a partial        set at a benefit called rock against mountaintop removal at 123        pleasant street on april 27th, with a pretty slick regional lineup of        the minus tide, once        again, the law biting        citizens, & 304        reconz. this benefit is being organized by mutiny        productions. hopefully we're playing a few shows in may, as well. details        when they are available. like this        one on may 17th... up there in that pennsylvania... look, i'll quit        being a jackass and just get off of here now. all the stupid fonts on this        thing seem so pretentious. like me. in case that flux capacitor you've been        working on ever ships you off in time, and you're lonely enough to want        to see one of our old shows, click here        for dates we've played in a history that is currently past.
hey, we have a self-released        seven inch, a split seven inch on nice        transportation records, and a split twelve inch on the        mountain collective. records can be obtained from us or the respective        labels. try whoever you please. reviews of the split twelve: deep        fry bonanza & masterdik.        if i ever get a little bit of not-lazy in me i'll type in some of the printed        reviews. now that's something to look forward to, isn't it?
are we photogenic?        you decide...well, maybe when i get that page working you can decide. until        then please deal with all the anticipation in a constructive manner, using        crayons to draw us or some such thing.
hey, here's links to some        wicked rippin' bands we've played with, or that we really like for some        reason. without particular order...

hey, it's not just about        music. here's links to some interesting internet-type stuff. great for people        who can surf the web while they are at work. valuable for others, too, but        you know, lots of us wish we could get paid for geeking around on the world        wide web.
