1113 shortly met 98.  It was headed to PB so I joined it.  98, the same road that leaves north Lafayette in a straight line west has at this point become a great road with sweeper after sweeper. After La.1111, I crossed the bayou again, headed north. La. 98 then turned south and ran into La.13, the Eunice to Crowley Road.
Roberts Cove is a landmark on La.98. Check out the Dave Rides to learn more.
Heimplatz is not a Cajun name. Learn more about the Germans of Southwest La.
Below is the 98 crossing. More trees and jungle.
La.98 really gets good here.
DL wanted to go, but she'd have to wait.
Below, the GPS tells the tale. Brule was getting bigger having been enlarged by her tributaries. Note the 367 crossing and the 98 crossing where the black triangle is located.
Also, you can see that it was 4:14 PM and I was 76 miles into the ride. I was also stopped.
The 0's in the upper right corner tell me so. I guess I could just look at this thing instead of the road?.
Local architecture has been  previously covered in this area. I liked this house so I shot it.
Nice place, nice area.
I stopped on this bridge to enjoy another rare back roads scene. I heard a car come up behind me and I quickly crossed the bridge and pulled to the side. Two young ladies were in a convertable and stopped to ask if I was OK.
I told them I was just taking pictures which I guess didn't really answer their question.
I evade that question regularly.
