Faubourg Gin Rd to Cocodrie
True Vine Church Rd.
Stears Store& TezenoRoad
Soileau Store
I next turned down True Vine and passed up all the points of interest to see if I could find the Cocodrie again. It was looking good, the same dive into the valley presented itself.
It looked like a National Forest as I rode along.
It ended with a gate. Oh, well. I reversed, re-enjoyed the ride and returned to catch the points of interest. The "Barns Hit" would be taken care of next.
The Stears Store sits on the corner of Tezeno and Pointe Verte. This was the first Stears Store and the last, probably. His cousin, knowing that there was something wrong, shortened the name to "Sears" and you know the rest of the story.
Here's the "Cow Hit". I sensed animosity from that cow. She moo'd at me.
I feared an Attack Cow. Look at the one approaching. There have been others in my past.
To keep from starring in the epic, "Bovine Revenge", I left.
No Greek Revival out here.
"Home places" have been deserted.
"Alcee Tezeno". I'm going out on a limb here. You might think "Tezeno" is an Italian name. I don't think so. I think this is a "Creole" area. "Tezeno" might be a combination of "Tee" and "Zeno". "Zeno" is a common Creole name and  "Tee" is a contraction of "petite", meaning "small". So "Tezeno" may mean "Little Zeno". That is totally speculative.
Pointe Verte terminated at La.103. This intersection marks the community of Soileau. Soileau's Old Country Store is open there. I should have gone it but I was a little tired and didn't feel like it. I feel guilty now. Let that be a lesson.
I decided to go through Opelousas and caught another train. I sat there, just feet away from the rushing loco and shot a few pictures. This one wood be the best.
It made me think about what I wood do next.
Maybe I'll make up with the Littering Democrat Deer Stand Sitting Hunters. Maybe not.
