9/24/00
Hey, i hit 600! Thanks for all the hits. Anyway, so
i'm seeing the Counting Crows and live tonight. Really excited about that. The only thing
that sucks is i don't have my concert shirt. Anyway, i've
recently found a new thing thats really cool, thunderstorms. Don't get many back home but
we had a huge one last night, and it started right in the middle of my lacrosse practice. It
was like practicing surrounded by thunder getting poured on. It was totally awesome. Yeah,
so i had my first physics test today, fairly easy. Then in my intro to physics class, which is
like where all the freshman physics majors learn about the department and careers, they were
all like the test was hella hard. This made me feel really smart and stuff, boosted the old
ego a bit. So, i'll tell y'all bout the concert later, till then.

So my roomate listens to rap all the time. I'm still
trying to fugure out how the hell this crap is classified as music. All it is is a bass beat
that just repeats itself over and over agian, never changing of course, and some dombass talking
fast. And they only talk about one of three things, violence, girls/guys/sex, and how crappy
life is couse thier high school dropouts. Sewriously, its all the same, headache inducing crap.
I mean, atleast hip hop was decent. All this new rap stuff just sucks big time.

I had a thought today (imagine that!). My thought
was basically this, our Universe is based on chaos and this explains a lot of things to me.
We as humans constantly work to make order out of chaos. In a way this is going against nature,
but it works. The big thing this means to me is as we strive scientifically to explain the
Universe, i believe that we will find that there is no way to mathematiccaly quantify the
Universe because math is based on order and the Universe is based on chaos. The ultimate goal
in physics is to find the grand unified theory, the theory of everything. The superstring
theory is an example of something close to this. I believe that we will never find this theory
because of the idea of chaos. Anyway, this is just a thought i had today.

So i'm watching the VMA's on mtv, which should be mtw, musical
talent wanted. This crap is so bad. What has music, and especially videos, come to? Music is supposed to
be an art, not the crap we got today. And videos are supposed to be extensions of the art of music, an
interpretation of the song. All it is today is this stupid boy band, no talent, can't even write their own
music, shit! I hate this shit. Every now and then a really good new band comes out. I think the last new
band that i really liked was Days of the New. They rock. Anyway, music has got to change. We need less
one hit wonders and more people who accually know what music is. I hate people who don't write their own
music, it's like singing other people's music, where is the creativity, the insperation? How can you be
inspired by something you didn't even create. And don't get me wrong, doing covers is all cool, but you
got to write your own music. Anyone can sing but few can write a song that will truley live forever.
So i had a bad morning. I ain't gonna go into it but it wasn't the
best ever. So i'm sitting in calculus around 1:30 and i'm bored out of my mind (like always) and i'm
staring out the window wondering when i was going to wake up. I litterally felt like i was still dreaming,
And it wasn't like a matrix trip, it was just weird. So i was thinking about this when my calc teacher tried
to explain to this kid that the derivative of velocity was acceration and not speed. Took about 10 minutes... dumbass.
This was rather amusing, being a physics major and all, so i accually paid attention in class. So on tues,
in physics lab we were doing this stuff on dist./time and velocity/time and i was with three sophmores who thought
they knew everything about physics. By the end i was explaining everything to them all couse they didn't
get a damn thing. Rather amusing. Helped my ego. Speaking of ego's, when did getting your mail become a
lasting mark on your ego. It's like if you get mail you're the coolest guy in the world and if you don't
you suck. Anyway, just a couple of thoughts.

So it's friday already. Who'd of thunk. So college
is pretty cool. Just want to mention something i saw today. Some girl was like half goth, half
hippie. Seriously, she had this all black body thing and a tie dyed hippie shirt, a spiked dog
collar and flowers in her hair. Must have been some kind of freak.
Anyway, just another thing that's messed up about college. What's even worse is, they have this
new rule that if you get caught either drinking or in the possession of alcohol they write to your
parents and tell them you're a rotten kid. I thought college was about getting away from your
parents? What's up with this? Anyway, college is fun and i'm having a blast, and i still miss
you all back in cali. Till next time.
