Evidence has recently been found that proves there is a black hole in the center of our galaxy. We previously knew that there were black holes in the center of other galaxies. Steven Hawkings was one of the first physicist to predict this.

The way that we proved there is a black hole in the center of our galaxy is by tracing the orbits of a few stars near our galaxy's center. By tracing the paths of a few stars near the galactic center we found that their paths were slowly shifting towards the center of the galaxy. Also, their mass has been slowly decreasing, due to the effects of the black hole.
