*365 days*
spring
brings in fresh
pale green leaves to cover
the bare and tangled trees
and warmth
to prevent them from being
forever frozen
as winter may have wanted.

summer
turns those leaves
into masterpieces
consisting of a million deep green hues
swirled together
into patterns too intracite
for a man-made paintbrush to possibly
create.

autumn
cooks those masterpieces
'til they are crisp and golden
but often they also become
dry and parched
in such a way tht forces them
to slowly flutter
to the ground.

winter
shakes off every
last leave until there are
none left to get caught in the wind
leaving only
bare bark to be beaten
by each and every element
until at last spring
arrives again.
