My name used to be Little Orphan Annie... but now that I've found a home, just Annie is fine.  The Hinsdale Humane Society found me in a parking lot when I was only twelve weeks old, where I was found by a family I've grown rather fond of.  That was June 2002, and now it's over three years later, July 2005, and I'm living not only with my family, but also my new squeaky toy- I mean baby brother.  You can read more about him here, but why you'd be more interested in him than me I'd never be sure.
At the moment...:  she's learning some fun tricks at home, along with dealing with dog-to-dog aggression from a bite she sustained as a puppy.
Plans for the future?:  agility (not competition), pointless tricks, etc.
Basics:
Name: Annie
Age:
about 3 years
Breed:
Border Collie mix (Basenji?)
Favorite Toy:
her "brother" and her squeaky football
Favorite Food:
Well, not dog food, limes, or tomatoes
Favorite Word:
"Walk," though "Treat" is a pretty good one, too
Reasons I put up with her:  she's the smartest dog with the most personality I've ever known.  Mind you, smart and obedient are two different things... besides, she's always so gosh darn happy to see me
Issues:  does NOT like dogs she does not know (she's been bitten several times); won't stop barking when people/dogs/cats go by our house; jumps
Funny Quirks and Stuff:
~*~  Makes more different noises than any dog I've ever heard before
~*~  Able to move her ears indepently of each other and in an amazing number of postitions
~*~  She's the best mouser/ratter in town... including the cats
~*~  She stalks squirrles until she's near enough she can chase them (and, if not on leash, catch them)
~*~  Eats bugs...
~*~  But she doesn't know what do to once she's caught a Swallowtail Butterfly.  They're so big!
~*~  She's had ant heads stuck to her tounge on several occasions... once we had to take it off with pliers
~*~  Even without any conditioning, she's always let me examine her everywhere: mouth, ears, eyes, feet, etc.
~*~  She knows when we're trying to help her... even when we were sticking pliers in her moth... ;)
