TARTS AND PIES

SAFEWAY INDIVIDUAL RHUBARB TARTS

These caught my eye when I spotted that they'd been reduced at the end of the day, and that's the only reason they would catch your eye, because they're not the most visually appealling of pies. However, I was pleasantly surprised with these.

Nice rhubarb filling, although a little on the mushy side, and not too sweet. Pastry nice and crunchy too.
An unexpected 7 out of 10.

Well, these are just the best ever...I can't recommend them highly enough!
Great pastry, with lovely rhubarb glaze on top make these a gorgeous sight. The rhubarb filling is wonderful with great chunks of rhubarb, not mushy at all, and not too sweet.
The only drawback is that they have a tendency to fall appart while you're eating them, but I guess that adds to the fun.
