PETITION

Citizens of Sedona and area residents who visit the city for business or pleasure are concerned about the City’s use of herbicides.  These chemicals are known to harm human health, pets, wildlife and the ecosystem.  Groups that are especially vulnerable to herbicide exposure include children, the elderly, and those who, through previous exposure, suffer from acute chemical sensitivities.  Successful herbicide-free weed control programs are already in place in a growing number of communities across the U.S. and Canada.  To The City Council of Sedona:  We, the undersigned, respectfully request that chemical herbicides be eliminated from the city’s weed control program as of the end of the current contract with Verde Valley Weed Control on June 30, 2006.
