2/5/01 - Laws vs. Hitmen
The View from “Section 118” at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas

WHAT THE HELL IS SECTION 118?

It’s where we sit. Stupid question. Welcome to the best perspective on Earth of what being at an XFL game was like. We like to call ourselves the Section 118’ers. Pretty damn simple.  Easy to remember because late in the games we sometimes forget where we sit.  Possibly you saw us on national television. That’s because we sat behind the goal post during the XFL season.  Didn’t you see us?  Should have tuned in. We were the idiots punching, climbing on, and kicking each other trying to catch the ball when it was kicked in our direction. We sat in the cheapest season ticket seats money could buy.  What did we do with the money we saved?  That’s another stupid question. Bought more cold, smooth, crisp, straight from the rockies, refreshingly refreshing beverages of course. At least till we were cut off in the 4th.  Did sitting in the end zone suck?  Not in our opinion. Not in the slightest.  Especially when we were front and center when the play was on our end of the field.  When it was on the other end? As you can see above, Vince installed us our own personal big screen tv. Not a bad deal.  Weren’t the fans in the end zone a bunch of yahoo drunken fools who were only at the games to see guys heads get knocked off and cleavage on the big screen?  Yes.  Well, most anyway.  And we loved it.  Pro football has become more politically correct with each new rule and passing season.  Not in the league they called the XFL.  Vince liked to refer to us as “Joe Six-Pack”. Call us whatever the hell you want.  From where we sat, that new league looked all good. Our section was not for the faint of heart, though.  And this crappy little web site is our little perspective of what went on in Section 118 each game.  Oh, and......GO LAWS!!!

Goodbye, goodbye, dear XFL
Although vanquished, you battled well
For a brief moment, your grand alliance
Did shake its fist in glorious defiance
Against the chains of bland conformity
And thus I praise the sheer enormity
Of the service you have done
To resurrect the bump and run
Indebted always to the glorious gamble
Unique names on jerseys, the opening scramble
Complete camera coverage, all access allowed
Voluptuous cheerleaders, fully endowed
Perhaps in this case, the cure was the disease
No superrich contracts, no big guarantees
Although fatcats mock you, and cheer at your doom
I do believe destiny soon will exhume
Your corpse from the ashes, exalted, on high
And acknowledge what you were,

a glorious try.

We make no profit promoting the XFL, Las Vegas Outlaws, and Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, so don’t throw yourself into a frenzy thinking we are benefiting from or making any financial gain with this web site. We have nothing to sell. Oh, hell. Who cares. Steal whatever you want. We have better things to do than hire lawyers and pay attorney fees for something as stupid as copywrite infringement that we own no copywrites to.  And congratulations. If you actually took the time to read all this crap, you are quite the intellectual.

Yea, us and two million other garbage filled football sites. We’ve got a great shot at winning.
THANKS, DICK!
