One of Sublime's crowing acheievements as a band was that they didn't stick to one basic formula for their entire careers. They moved around, experimented with new styles, styles that other bands may have been afraid to go into, changing song structure and sound at the blink of an eye. Of all the bands that claimed to blend reggae, punk, and rock music, Sublime was the only one to include pure, unaltered dub tracks into their repetoir. Songs like Waiting For My Ruca and Pawn Shop owe much to the originators of Jamacian music, and just as much to Bradley's respect for the music that he created.. [ < prev | next > ] |
