This song was taken off of 40 oz. to Freedom after Sublime signed their major-label record deal due to a question of the legality of some of the songs samples. It was said by Miguel that the samples were of an old "English burnout band who shall remain nameless." This English burnout band was Led Zeppelin, as the samples were taken from The Lemon Song.
This song is not about Brad, as most think, but it is actually about Bud and Eric, who were staying at Brad's house during the time that it was written. The recording at the beginning of the song is taken from Brad's girlfriend's house, and is actually about her cat.
The reference to "the Yellow Lover" refers not to Bud, as it may seem, but rather to Field Marshall Goodman, who to took over the drumming duties for Bud during the recording of 40 oz. because Bud was in drug rehab at the time. Miguel calls it "a vacation from music."
