An old legend exists across the African coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, about an immense cataclysm which destroyed the first civilization that ever inhabited this planet. tells the legend, that these beings were equipped with incredible powers, and reached such a high spiritual level, that they even lived united by some kind of common core that it fed its wisdom and knowledge, turning them into a very powerful race. But it seems that its knowledge could not dominate the power of the nature, so that an earthquake of cataclysmic proportions buried its rest underneath which today is known as the Mediterranean Sea.

Many believe that Santorini once was Atlantis. But why ?
Atlantis is one of the oldest legends of the western civilisation. It's about
a rich and splendid land or island that sunk and disappeared into the sea.
Atlantis has been assigned to almost every possible place on earth (even
Antarctica...) and there are virtually no limits for the human fantasy. Everyone
favours 'his' Atlantis. Very few people, however, seem to know the true sources
and discern reality, physically plausible facts and pure fiction that,
nevertheless, can sometimes be more stimulating and fascinating than perhaps
reality. First of all, Atlantis seems to stand for one of mankind's oldest
dreams and myths, one of the lost Golden Age.
The discussion about Atlantis is extremely vivid and far from ending. It
brought forth innumerable books, films, web-pages, articles, but most of them of
highly speculative or esoteric character. Some people even believe that the
inhabitants of Atlantis were extraterraneans...But whatever and wherever
Atlantis was, we probably will never know for sure.

2 A pleasing land of drowsy head it was,
Of dreams that wave before the half-shut eye;
And of gay castles in the clouds that pass,
Forever flushing round a summer sky.
Castle of Indolence.
