New Shopping District Opens

Conlan's Glen-  After a long summer of promotion and building, a new shopping district has opened for business in Conlan's Glen.  Nicknamed "The Drop" by Stephen Roth, the man behind the new venture, the new shopping district is already bustling with activity and new businesses.

"I wanted to bring some life back to the downtown area," Mr. Roth stated in a recent press conference.  "It's dying and the only thing that will bring it back is if we as a community get behind this."

Already open in the area are Tia Rosa's Dress Shop, a long time business in the Glen, and The Flamingo Club, part of a chain of dance clubs with roots in Miami.  Set to open next week are Pier One, The Book Stop, Starbucks, Image Design, and Jason's Deli.

Jones Case Opens in Court

Conlan's Glen-   The court trial for Tyler Jones, 23, began yesterday to a crowded courtroom.  Jones is accused of rape, physical assault, and kidnapping, though the kidnapping charge is likely to be thrown out after the testimony of Dinah Stafford.

In opening statements, the District Attorney referred to Jones as a member of a crime family and extremely dangerous.  The attorney for Jones would not comment on the allegations but issued a statement claiming that the DA was using a rumor about a member of Jones' family to grandstand.  The case continues today with witnesses for the Prosecution.
