FFVII Advent Children Spoiler

Fans of FFVII will be delighted to hear that Square Enix will be producing a direct sequel to FFVII sub-titled "Advent Children". It will take place two years after the events of the original FFVII after Cloud and crew saved the world from Sephiroth and the Meteor.
Both Cloud and Sephiroth are set to make a return.
It has also been confirmed that the tentative release date for the DVD is Summer 2004 for Japan. Although there has been no word on the movie coming to to the US, if the DVD comes to the US there's a good chance we'll see a holiday release.

PLOT:

Two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII, the human race faces a new threat. Star Scar Syndrome, an illness of some kind, is beginning to spread and is killing the population at a rapid rate.
Due to this, many souls return to the Lifestream of the Planet, and Cloud is left alone to live a lonely life.
Whether or not the main characters such as Tifa and Vincent are alive, we do not know. We do know that somehow Sephiroth will somehow make an appearance, as will a Mystery Man, who looks a lot like a Sephiroth with spikey platinum hair. Is he related to Sephiroth? It appears so, but we do not know exactly how.

SPECULATION:

What is star syndrome?
Star Scar Syndrome; a most mysterious illness that spreads easily. It kills people. Now, as noted before, 'Star' may be referring to The Planet. If so, is The Planet behind this illness? Note that the Japanese test says people die from it, and does not mention any other species being affected by Star Scar Syndrome. Could this be The Planet punishing humankind for their evil deeds two years before, when they were stealing mako from The Planet and creating dangerous scientific experiments such as Sephiroth?

Why is Cloud unaffected by it? (Perhaps...)
If, so, why isn't Cloud affected by it? The Japanese teaser says 'Cloud, who fought alone because the world refused others to live, lived a lonely life'. Why was Cloud spared? Is it because he is the hero? If you remember correctly, Cloud wasn't interested in the health of The Planet; not in the beginning, not in the middle, and not at the end of the game. He was focused on getting revenge on Sephiroth. Revenge, revenge, revenge. It is no different from Sephiroth himself, who sought revenge on humankind after they injected him with Jenova cells.
Why does Cloud have the right to live, when Barret was the one who wanted to save The Planet from the beginning?
Could it be that Cloud is not human? If you remember, Cloud was injected with Jenova cells; this could have altered his molecular structure, causing him not to become human. All others who were injected with Jenova cells, The Sephiroth 'Clones', were killed in The Reunion, aside from Cloud and Sephiroth.

What is Sephiroth doing alive?
Due to Sephiroth supposedly not being human if this theory is correct, he could be reincarnated just like Bugenhagen shows in his planetary. However, how could Sephiroth be reincarnated, and then age to his normal age in two years? It sounds crazy, and that's probably because it is crazy. These are all mere theories for thought until we have some real information on -Advent Children-. Perhaps Sephiroth was revived somehow; after all, in the V-Jump scans themseklves, it says 'Sephiroth is finally revived?!' We just don't know.
Maybe the Sephiroth we see in the images and teasers is merely a flashback Cloud has when he meets up with the Mystery Man.

Who is the mystery man?
Mystery Man is a character with Sephiroth-like characteristics. He has platinum hair, only it's spikey, (think Riku of Kingdom Hearts or Tidus of Final Fantasy X) and he is supposedly 'related' to Sephiroth according to what V-Jump thinks. We have no clue who he actually is.
Perhaps Mystery Man is Sephiroth's brother, or evil (good?) twin. Or maybe he is Sephiroth's son, or the body Sephiroth will be reincarnated into. Maybe, just maybe, it is Sephiroth's lover.

Trailer Description:

There are two trailers. The first one to come out was short, and the second one to come out was the old trailer and more. So, there's no point in knowing the first trailer if you know the second.

Due to the valiant efforts used to save the world two years before, the world was thought to be peaceful once and for all. However, a new illness known as the Star Scar Syndrome started to spread, and the people began to suffer and die off.
And Cloud, who fought alone because the world refused others to live, lived a lonely life.
Voice of a Small Girl: "That day, the power was used. Therefore, the star now lives. The humans have become the star, their souls among the star. And I had thought it would all be over.."
(Translation Note: 'Star' may be referring to The Planet.)
Cloud is slowly walking through a church with colorful stained-glass windows.
Then Cloud is riding on a motorcycle (The motorcycle has been confirmed to be named 'Fenrir'.) when suddenly he is attacked by projectiles of some sort; (They are hard to make out.) a silver-haired man appears. It is none other than Mystery Man! Sephiroth's Theme begins to play in the background. (One-Winged Angel.) "I want to forgive you, but I can't forgive you," Cloud says while standing in front of a grave that appeared out of nowhere. (In Asian countries, a sword out of the ground symbolizes where its wielder died.) "Your death has been decided."
Cloud and Mystery Man begin a very climatic swordfight. Cloud's Buster Sword is, and I quote from one of the viewers of the teaser, "ridiculously wide".
Cut-scene: A sheet-covered figure is seen sitting in a chair, and someone who appears to be Sephiroth kneels before the figure.
We see Sephiroth walk away into the flames, and thus the teaser ends...
