“Having moved to Suva from my hometown,
London, 6 months ago, I was beginning to despair over repeated subjections to
the 20 unimaginative tracks that seemed to be tirelessly recycled in O'Reilly's
every night. It seemed that the only way of enjoying a night out dancing was to
get horrendously drunk and throw all my previously fanatical music values in
the bin - and I used to be the sort of puritan who would refuse to even tap my
foot to shite music. Therefore the arrival of Secret
Locations was an event that was timely, if not long overdue.”
“The night started off well with some cool
Latin beats, progressed onto more innovative techno-sounds, and winded down
gently with some crowd-pleasing, slightly more mainstream, European club scene
favourites. There was a short set of rap improvisations mid-way through the
nights that were slightly patchy in quality, but in fairness were
earnest attempts. In summary, it was a refreshing
and well paced mix, and was certainly the best night of dance music that I have
seen being offered in
