A set of rules accepted by the RP-Community in DC

These rules serve the purpose to further the combined efforts of creating RolePlaying stories in DC, to make it easier to follow the storylines, and to create a common ground for all participants.

1. If you write a story that involves another character:

a. Get permission

b. do not defame another character in the eyes of the reader; When you write about his actions, inform yourself first about his character description, and do not portray him in another way than fitting with this description.

c. Do not write about events that effect another character, without having contacted his creator beforehand and received his permission. (Especially, do not kill him or make him look bad in a fight..)

d. Conflicts should be written as a combined effort, either on a post reply action by action basis, or as a story created based on an exchange in the Chatroom, or as a story created by sending it back and forth over; ICQ, AIM, by e-mail, or other forms of communication besides the forums.

e. Do not carry OOC-conflicts into the storyline.

2. If you write a story that involves another clan:

a. Get permission

b. do not defame another clan in the eyes of the reader.

c. Do not write about events that effect a clan, without having contacted the Clanleader of that clan first, and gotten his permission.

d. Conflicts should be written as a combined effort, either on a post reply action by action basis, or as a story created based on an exchange in the Chatroom, or as a story created by sending it back and forth over; ICQ, AIM, by e-mail, or other forms of communication besides the forums.

e. Do not carry OOC conflicts into a storyline, especially accusations about hacking, discussions about clanpower, greatness of ones own skill, etc....

3. If you write a story that involves DC:

a. Do not describe events that effect a change in the given situation by the Creator Fred. (Kill Queen Beth ...)

b. Use the stories that have been created and accepted by the RP-Community so far as a basis for your stories. It isnt possible to gain if it isnt recognized, seeking advice or council on such a thing always helps.

c. Do not confuse the readers by posting short posts without much content as a main post on the board.

4. If you write a reply

a. to a post, please reply underneath that post unless the original post has moved down into the lower three quarters of a Forum.

b. to a reply, please reply to the original post. That will keep the post from becoming too deep or off track, and therefore easier to follow.

c. Please read carefully what you are replying to, to avoid inconsistencies.

d. Do not use the other forums besides the Tavern for OOC discussions and comments unless they are related, and please do not spam.

e. Provide a contact address that you check regularly, so that OOC replies can be avoided.

f. If you are involved in a storyline, please make your replies within a week. Unless otherwise agreed, if you do not reply within a week, the other writer is allowed to write the next post, so that his character is not frozen into inaction.
