In Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 God describes with detail the attack of Russia and its allies against Israel.
In Ezekiel 38:1-3 & 39:1 God speaks against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
Gog = The leader of Russia,
Magog = The land of Russia,
Meshech = Moscow, the capital city of Russia.
God does not speak for Gog, the leader of Russia, but against him, which means that Russia and her allies have a big problem "...Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee..." (38:3).
"... I will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel" (39:2). Russia is located north of Israel. If you walk straight from Jerusalem going north, you will end up in Moscow.
The repeated victories of Israel against the neighboring Arabic countries, which happen to be, since long ago, allies of Russia, have challenged Russia and have become by God "...hooks into the jaws..." of Russia which are pulling her, along with her allies, against Israel (38:4).
The military might of Russia is getting transferred to the Middle East perhaps because, besides the plans of Russia for the annihilation of Israel, there are also plans for the capture of the whole Middle East area which is rich with oil and has openings to the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Persia.
Several nations joint their forces with Russia against Israel, some of which are recorded by name (38:5-6).
Persia refers to Iran, Afghanistan and part of Iraq, while Libya refers to the modern Libya.
All these countries are today allies of Russia and they are Islamic countries.
Islam preaches the spread of the Islamic Religion by force and the annihilation firstly of Israel the "small satan" as they call it, and then the annihilation of the west democratic, Christian world, with America (USA) its leading country, the "big satan" as they call it.
Jerusalem is their third holy city after Mecca and Medina, so this is one additional reason why the Islamic nations want Jerusalem under their control.
Ethiopia refers to the modern Ethiopia which today is a communist country and ally of Russia.
Gomer perhaps refers to a European country which used to be part of the formerly Soviet Union.
The house of Togarmah refers to Turkey which today is divided because of the Islamic Powers which could at any time rise to authority and be in the position to support the other Islamic countries against Israel.
The Arabic countries which are neighbors of Israel are not mentioned along with the ally countries of Russia as they have been already either eliminated by Israel or captured by Israel. The War between Israel, Syria and other Arabic Countries in which Israel is victorious, precedes the Third World War.
Russia prepares herself militarily in spite of the agreements with America to supposedly limit the proliferation of nuclear weapons. She also prepares and guards the ally countries, and she arms the ally countries with the most contemporary weapons (38:7).
The ally countries prepare themselves not only with conventional weapons but also with weapons of mass destruction like the chemical, biological and nuclear.
As far as the nuclear weapons are concerned, these could easily be manufactured with Russian technology and proper materials, supplied through the black market.
It is believed that Iran possesses the required technology for the construction of the nuclear bomb within few years.
The attack against Israel takes place in the last years in which we live today. Also it takes place after the Israelites return back to their land (38:8).
The Israelites while they were scattered all over the world, they were transferred to the land of Israel and they created their own state which was recognized by the United Nations on May 14, 1948. But today they do not dwell "...safely all of them" (38:8).
This is the presupposition for the commencement of the Third World War, Israel to dwell quietly and safely.
Russia disposes a huge army which she uses, along with a big army from the ally powers, in order to invade Israel.
For the attack against Israel, nuclear power is not used as one of the main goals of the attack is the capture of the fertile land of Israel and of the goods of Israel "To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand... upon the people... which have gotten cattle and goods... to carry away silver and gold... to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil" (38:12-13). Russia suffers from the lack of finances and the lack of food for her people since a number of years now.
Israel was gathered from among the nations and became a state in 1948 "...the people that are gathered out of the nations..." (38:12).
The invasion is attempted against "...the land of unwalled villages... ." The contemporary cities of the 20th century are built without walls (38:11).
Sheba and Dedan are located in Saudi Arabia which is an ally of America (38:13).
The merchants of Tarshish refer to the Great Britain (lion) and to the small lions. America is one of the small lions and is the only country in the world today which is an ally of Israel and supports Israel widely (38:13).
America and her allies question the invasion powers "...Art thou come to take a spoil ...to take a prey ...to carry away ...to take away ...to take a great spoil?" As we will see below, America and Russia, along with many other countries, may be getting into a world wide nuclear confrontation during the invasion (38:13).
"...Prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus says the Lord God; ...when my people Israel dwelleth safely ...thou shall come up against my people of Israel ...I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes" (38:14-16).
We can say that surely God is personally involved in this war. He addresses the leader of Russia, Gog, and He explains to him: "The people of Israel are My people, the land of Israel is My land, and I'm going to use you, so the nations will get to know Me."
The nations know that only with the power of the God of Israel it was possible for Israel to become victorious in an invasion of this extent.
God describes with detail what happens when finally the leader of Russia comes against the land of Israel.
The expression of the face of God changes because of His wrath "...my fury shall come up in my face... ," and to begin with, three things take place which stop the invasion. A great earthquake takes place in the land of Israel from the presence of God "...all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence... ," the invasion armies start killing each other "...every man's sword shall be against his brother... ," and the invasion systems of rockets are not utilized "...I will smite thy bow ...and will cause thine arrows to fall out..." (38:17-21, 39:3-5).
While the confused enemy armies kill each other, easily Israel manages to neutralize, with his military airforce, the systems of rockets and generally the military machine of the enemy.
In Ezekiel 38:22 the final destruction of the invasion armies and countries is described which takes place with overflowing rain, great hailstones, fire and brimstone.
It wouldn't be the first time that God rains fire and brimstone or fire and hailstones "Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstones and fire... out of heaven" (Genesis 19:24), "So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt..." (Exodus 9:24).
It is believed that 38:22 perhaps also describes the nuclear holocaust and its effects.
As Israel finds itself in danger of annihilation, it uses its nuclear might, the "Massata Complex" as it is called, against the invasion countries.
As we mentioned before, nuclear power against Israel is not used as the goal of the invasion armies is the capture of the rich land of Israel with conventional weapons so that the people of Israel are destroyed but its land and riches are left intact for plundering and looting.
In this war, just as in the previous wars of Israel since 1948 until today, Israel takes up countries numerically excessively bigger than itself and takes up armies excessively stronger than itself, it accomplishes what it is possible to be accomplished with the strength it possesses in order to survive, and where it cannot prevail, God intervenes with His forces.
Surely Israel and the nations recognize that God intervened.
It wouldn't be the first time that the nations recognize the intervention of the God of Israel "And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms... when they had heard that the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel" (II Chronicles 20:29).
God gets magnified and recognized through this war by Israel and the nations as the Lord (38:23, 39:7-8,21-22).
"And I will send a fire on Magog and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles... ." It is believed that America is included among them that dwell carelessly the isles. Perhaps America entangles herself in the war along with other countries during the invasion of Israel with the result the exchange of intercontinental nuclear rockets (39:6).
The war ends soon with victors Israel and its God.
During the following 7 years the Israelites burn the weapons of the invasion armies. It is known that the Russians use a special material for the construction of their weapons (lignopetra) which is possible to burn. So the Israelites instead of cutting trees for burning, they use these weapons (39:9-10).
For 7 months Israel buries the dead soldiers while the same time the fowls and the wild animals eat the flesh of the dead (39:11-20).
The people of Israel and the nations recognize that God scattered the people of Israel all over the world because of their sin. God punished the people of Israel for 2000 years because of their iniquity and trespasses against Him, and God showed mercy to the people of Israel, He gathered the people of Israel back to the land of Israel, without a remnant in the nations, so the nations and the people of Israel recognize that God is the Lord and the God of Israel. Israel does not go away from his God again. He returns to God and God becomes the Lord his God (39:23-29).
We are close to the Second Presence of Jesus on the earth.
The Third World War brings us one step closer to the global government of the dictator Antichrist. The Antichrist enslaves the world with his global economic system and forces the people to take the "Mark of the Beast" on their right hand or on their forehead ("Mark of the Beast" = "Microprocessor Chip Implant"), ("Beast" = "Antichrist"). Without the "Mark of the Beast" it is impossible for anybody to either buy or sell anything.
The ones who refuse "cooperation" with the system of the Antichrist, end up in the concentration camps which are installed in many countries of the world and consequently get eliminated. The system of the Antichrist uses the high technology of the 21st century to survey and control a large number of people on the face of the earth. Indeed there is no way out. There are two options. The Antichrist or Jesus.
The option Antichrist gives to you the potential to live in the system of the Antichrist by worshipping him as your god and by taking the "Mark of the Beast" in your body. However, this option secures for you the wrath of God which is sent to the people during the "7 Years of Tribulation" and also secures for you death and everlasting hell when Jesus returns to the earth at His Second Presence.
The choice of Jesus offers to you everlasting life with God and protection from the wrath of God during the "7 Years of Tribulation." However, this choice puts you in opposition to the Antichrist and his system, with the probable result your death, the death of a martyr, if this is allowed by God. At the Second Presence of Jesus, if you are dead you are raised from the dead and along with the remaining alive Christians you meet Jesus in the clouds right after you receive your incorruptible body, your supernatural body, which has the same attributes as the body of Jesus.
Jesus eliminates the Antichrist, destroys his system and reigns on (governs) the earth for 1000 years while you reign (govern) along with Him. Afterwards, God creates a new earth and a new heaven... . Certainly it is impossible for somebody to comprehend the important plans of Jesus for them that choose Him and love Him.
If you want to follow Jesus you must be born again by believing in Him and confessing Him as your personal Savior and Lord. It is also imperative to joint a local church and to start fellowshiping with other born again Christians (John 3:3+16+36, Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9+10+13, II Corinth. 5:17+21)!
If you want to follow Jesus you can start right now with this confession and prayer: "Lord Jesus Christ, I believe in You and I accept You as my personal Savior and as my Lord. Forgive all my sins and wash me, cleanse me, sanctify me, with Your holy blood which You shed on the cross of Golgotha. My Heavenly Father, I praise You and I worship You. I thank You because now I'm Your child. Please protect me through the '7 Years of Tribulation' and help me to stay faithful to Jesus until the end, amen!"
