| July 17, 2006---Second Offense is going good. Actually, Saint Suicide was required to relocate to the East Coast (Virginia Beach, to be exact). Peebo got himself in a bunch of trouble (though details aren't going to be provided, it involves numerous offenses) and is now in a juvenile detention center for an undisclosed amount of time. Is this the end of Second Offense? Maybe. But maybe not. Though it appears that luck is not on our side, the members were quite happy with the direction the band was heading musically, and unfortunatley there aren't very many talented musicians who have all the same goals as us. (Again, musically) Are we breaking up? We're not quite sure. But, what we are sure of is that we will be on indefinate hiatus for the time being. I know this is upsetting to you, the adoring fan, but you can sleep well tonight because I can assure you that this isn't the last you have heard from us. February 28, 2006---A lot has happened since our last update. We have a new bass player, and we have christened him "Rubby". He listens to Cher and watches Boy Meets World. All that aside, he is a damn good bass player and a fine addition to Second Offense. We just recently taught him all the songs, and were fixing up to book us some shows - until Peebo got sent to in patient rehab in Lincoln for a month. He is leaving there this Thursday, so we will be on a "hiatus" of sorts. Fortunatley, before all of this we recorded a "demo" (recorded live in our practice room). Peebo's vocals are too loud, Dyl's vocals are unnoticeable, and the bass is a little hard to make out - but it's not too bad. Among the songs recorded were: Shoot Kids, What Happened?, I Gotta Ask, Drunk Poor And Happy As Fuck, One Dead Cop, Rock The 40 Oz, Infested, FAJS, G.I. Joe, and the first minute of Let's Rob A Bank until we fucked it up. Six of these songs will be on the internet shortly, and the links will be provided. December 28, 2005---Fuck. I did not realize I haven't updated since May 13. Well here's what's been going on in the last couple months: Zach now lives in Ohio because of his probation. We have recruited a new member, Dyl, to take his place. We have been practicing, writing new songs, and looking for venues that will allow us to play. Fleischmann does not come to practice anymore. His status as bass player is undecided, but I can't say it's looking too good. Well, once we get the whole bass played ordeal figured out, we should be playing some shows. Also, Dyl has an 8 track recorder, so we are going to record a few songs on that. Well, hopefully I remember to update this in a timely manner. May 13, 2005---Well fuck me, it's been a long time. Here's the run down of what's been going down in the last couple months....The Rebel's show was alright; we played good and there were quite a few people there for us. Unfortunately, we were told we couldn't play again unless we cleaned up our language. So now we are stuck with nowhere to play. Then, in the process of writing new songs, Mitch's parents kicked us out of their house because of our excessive consumption of alcohol. We were informed that the basement is a "practice room, and not a bar" and we weren't allowed to practice there anymore. Months went by before Mitch's mom said we can practice there as long as we sign a contract saying we won't drink (yeah, we're fucked) at practice anymore. Hopefully we'll be practicing again in a couple days and finishing the songs we were writing. After that, I think we are going to play at someone's house and at Ted And Wally's Ice Cream Shop in the Old Market before I leave to Virginia Beach for most of the summer. And then Zach is going to join the army. So we are going to play a Farewell-Zach-You-Are-Joining-The-Army-Show. The only problem is we have nowhere to play. Fuck Second Offense. Oh yeah, we have a new message board so you should all go there and post. But, seeing as how the board has been inactive for about 6 months, I doubt anybody will. February 19, 2005---Alright, we got another show at Rebels (our apologies to playing another christian venue, but we can't get shows anywhere else) on March 4 with NAMELESS THEORY and 2 other bands TBA. Our bad about the whole recording ordeal, we're supposed to take in another couple weeks again. But in good news, we wrtoe a new song called "Drunk, Poor, and Happy As Fuck" written by our very own Kaboooooooooom! It's a fun little song. Yeah, that's it. January 16, 2005---The show at Sokol was a good one (even though we kept fucking shit up on stage). There was about 4 people there for us. But the good news is, we recorded Saturday! It's about fucking time, right? Well, we only got "Kill the Police" recorded, and we fucked up the timing a bit so we are going to rerecord it (along with other songs) in 2 weeks. If you want, you can check out the temporary piece-of-shit demo at purevolume. We don't have any shows scheduled at the moment. January 2, 2005---We have a show Saturday, January 8 at Sokol Hall (upstairs). All proceeds from the show go to help a man with diabetes who lost his leg get a wheelchair and construct a ramp into his house. There are going to be lots of punk and metal bands, and the cost is only $6. For any more info, go to the shows page. We were supposed to be recording that weekend, but I suppose we will need to find a new date to do it. In other good news, we have shirts coming (sometime--soon, hopefully) that have our handcuff logo on the front and says "making christian kids cry since 2003" on the back. We won't have demos or shirts by this next show, but hopefully before the next. We also wrote a new song, which we may or may not play on the 8th, but it is fucking good. Anway, come see us this weekend. December 17, 2004---What the fuck. Here is the email we recieved today from Julie at The Rock: Alex and Second Offense band, I have some really bad news for you guys. I have to pull your band from the lineup tonight Dec. 17th, 2004. I really hate to do this but some things happened and I am left with no choice. I will try to explain it below and will try to call you too so that you understand why. I know this will leave you upset, but please try to look at it from The Rocks point of view and not take this as an attack on your band. First of all, I recieved complaints about a flyer you put out to promote your show. When I obtained a copy of the flyer I was deeply offended by it and had to show it to the owners. Since then, we have found and reviewed your website and realize that your feelings about what we stand for at The Rock are in direct disagreement with ours. When you agreed to a clean show with upbeat lyrics and to following the guidelines in the contract I send you, I trusted that you would be able to follow through on that. I booked you without checking out a demo or viewing your website (I believed you did not have one). I took your word that the people paying money to see the artists at The Rock would not be offended by what they heard. I took your word that the parents that trust us to watch out for their kids and provide a safe atmosphere for their kids to hang out, would not have to worry. After seeing what we have seen, we cannot let you play based on your published feelings for the things we hold important. I do not see how with your lyrics and attitudes towards society, you could put on a show required by the guidelines in the contract. If you did, you would be compromising what you stand for and if you don't you would be breaking the contract. I do not see how we can both hold our integrity and have you play the show. These are just a few of the reasons that both the owners and the new manager have directed me to pull you from the show tonight. This is by no means a judgement on the quality validity of your work talent. This is just saying that from we can tell, what you believe in and stand for does not match what we are about at The Rock and what are called to provide in entertainment here. Please try to understand. If you feel you would like to discuss this further I would be glad to talk with you all. The owners and new manager would be willing to discuss this too. However, this is our position on the show tonight. Sincerely, Julie King The Rock Booking [email protected] 402.707.1177 www.therockpapio.com I've only got one thing to say. FUCK THE ROCK. Hopefully we can get some shows at Ranch Bowl or Sokol where we don't have to worry about these whiny god-loving christian fucks. We apologize the everyone (all 2 of you) that had planned on going to that show. Blame god. It's his fault. November 19, 2004---We lied. We aren't playing that show at the Capeheart Theatre tonight. They only were going to give us 15 minutes, so we just aren't going to show up. We still have our show November 26 at Rebels with LIFE'S LAST BREATH and AUTUMN FALLZ. We also have a big show at The Rock on December 17 that has like 6 bands or something...you can get more information here. Also, we may be going to our friend's basement studio next weekend and record a couple of songs for a demo. This demo will have 2-4 songs on it, but we haven't decided which ones. Not like it matters, we're not going to sell one fucking copy anyway. November 6, 2004---Thanks to everyone who came to see our show last night. We have 3 shows coming up... November 19 at the Capeheart Theatre with NIFTY 250, YOUR FACE, and PLAYING FOR KEEPS November 26 at Rebels with LIFE'S LAST BREATH, TBA December 17 at the Rock with TONEDEAF MIME, RACECAR BACKWARDS, and LOST LOGIC we also are starting a mailing list. If you would like to recieve news on upcoming shows, etc., email [email protected] with your full name, and who you think the sexiest member is. October 16, 2004---We got some flyers for the November 5th show...if you need one, just ask one of us. they are so awesome, i cream my jeans everytime i look at them. it also looks like we are going to play a show at the Base Theatre with nifty 250, your face, and standing outside on November 19 or 20. it will be a free show, but we still have to work out the details. anyway, go see us at rebels. October 8, 2004---We have a show on November 5th at Rebels. More info is on the shows page. Erik got the show for us. He has a small penis. August 29, 2004---We finally got all our shit to mitch's house. we're writing some songs, and next practice we're hopefully gonna take some pictures.
