Rainbows are between 5 and 7 years old.
When the girls are 7, they can move up to the next section, Brownies.
Rainbows wear tabards over normal clothing as uniform. The individual rainbow unit agrees on which colour they will wear - red, orange, yellow, green, blue or purple.
The Rainbows can wear extra uniform if they wish. The additional items available are green shorts, a green baseball cap and a green T-shirt with the words "Rainbow Guides".
Rainbows meet once a week.
After a few meetings, when the rainbows have settled in they make a promise.
The rainbows participate in activities which include craft, cooking, games and fun out of doors.
