Shape & Defining Features

Long Line

Put white highlight on your eyebrow bone, on lid and underneath eye to erase shadows.  Apply liner with arc at center lid for “rounder” eyes.

Aim: To soften hallows of gaunt face.  Create width at eye level with liners, highlights.  Shade chin point to remove angles.  Blend line down.

False Eyelash Tips

For a strong hold, apply adhesive to false lashes, count to 20 and then apply over a clean lashline.  Once dry, apply mascara over both natural and false lashes.

What’s that white pencil for?

White pencil is used to accentuate your eyes.  You will want to line the inside of your eyelids with it to make your eyes appear larger on stage.

Colors

Blusher & Bronzer

A peaches and cream complexion was the basis of any makeup look.

A peachy blush is perfect for this look.  For fair/ivory tones use an apricot shade.

Eye shadow & Liner

Women could get away with a more dramatic look, particularly for evening.  Eyeliner was liquid, making a sharp, highly defined contour. It was used primarily on the upper lid.

Pale beige will go all over the lid and dark (almost black) eye shadow or a thick eyeliner line will go into the outside crease of the eye to create depth and shadow.

Near the brow (in the upper arch), the inside corners of the eyes and on top of cheek bones, add a cream eye shadow for highlighting.

Lipstick, Liner & Nails

Want to wear red lipstick?  This is your chance.  Women could wear red by day and it was the most popular choice for evening.
