Rohtang pass (3978 metres above sea level).
A basic army check post, temple in a cave
(background), and a varied collections of tents that dish out hot chai and food. It rained on
our ascent up from Manali and we were freezing our balls off in the 15 km/h wind.

Rohtang.

The descent from Rohtang is a series of twisting and turning loops to get you a couple
of thousand feet lower in a few kilometres.

Rohtang, the other side.

Khoksar. Ok, i got a little lazy and asked an unknown mechanic who should make a living
selling clams to check the chain tension before we left (he's dead now), it was perfect
when i checked it last, I swear. The mountain villagers most happy to lend a hand and chat
for a few helping fix a broken link.

Broken chain links.

Jispa. Another chain link down, sweet villagers or not, fix your own chains yourself.
Forced to pitch in for an early night, thorns were the only available firewood in this
fast becoming desert. Oooo, the Hulks feeling cold.

By the Bhaga by night.

Nightlife.

Jispa.
