You can go with your bicycle where you cannot go with your car, and it'll be too much tiring if you walk... Besides I see cycling as a hobby, if you like you like, if you don't you'll probably never like it... We have a house in Çınarcık, and when I was a child we used to go there every summer... I love to cycle downhill, I used to fall a few times (once through the sea), but still I think it was terrific :) Here are some information from: http://www.exploratorium.edu/cycling/humanpower1.html In fact cycling is more efficient than any other method of travel--including walking! It takes less energy to bicycle one mile than it takes to walk a mile. A bicycle can be up to 5 times more efficient than walking. If we compare the amount of calories burned in cycling to the number of calories an automobile burns, the difference is astounding. One hundred calories can power a cyclist for three miles, but it would only power a car 280 feet (85 meters)!
The engine for this efficient mode of transport is nothing more than human body. Different muscle groups and types provide the power. Genetic inheritance, intensive training, and a competitive drive help top athletes push the boundaries of endurance and speed on the bicycle.
