This game is what I like to call; WHO SAY WHAT NOW?

One person starts off by saying a question. The next person answers thier question with another question. The catch is that if you can't think of a question you are out, if you ask the question, WHY? or WHAT DO YOU MEAN? you are out. Last person standing wins.

EXAMPLE:
Carl-- Did you see that new movie?
Billy-- Did you like the part when they revealed the killer?

Here's my favorite, it's called; WORLDS WORST.

One person thinks of a profession. The next people in the group think of wha the world's worst thing for a person in that profession could say. If you take more than x amount of seconds you are out. If no body thinks that what you said was the "WORLDS WORST" you are out.

EXAMPLE: Say the profession is a clown.
Carl-- "Stop laughing at me!"

Now it gets trickier. This one is called; ISN'T THAT A SONG?

This game is really complicated, so pay close attention. This is kind of like WHO SAY WHAT NOW? meaning that you have only a limited amount of answers. You can only talk in song titles, or use a song title in what you are saying. If it is not a real song then you are out, if you cannot think of a song title you are out, and if you can't think of anything in 3 seconds, you are out.

EXAMPLE:
Carl-- Careful with that, I'm ARMED AND DANGEROUS.
Billy-- Don't worry BLUE SKIES make me happy.

This one is really funny. It is called THESBIANS OUTRAGED.

This is a really funny one I just came up with. A person is handed a script(or just something to read from) no matter what is written they have to act like it is the most infurriating statement ever given. The person on stage with them has to try to calm them down. There is no way to win this game, but it is hillarious.

EXAMPLE:
Carl-- Why do you have to be nice to me all the time!!!!!!!!
Billy-- (calmly) Don't worry, it's just because no body likes you.

This one I would like to call; TOP TEN.

This game was started by David Letterman. It involves as many as 2-10 people. Someone comes up with something that could be made into a "top ten" list. The first person says one and then the next person says another and it keeps going until there are ten things listed. If a person cannot come up with a reason/topic they are out. If they say something not related to the list, they are out. If they cannot come up with an answer after x amount of seconds they are out. When someone is out someone else takes their place untill everyone has had a turn and there are no spots left.
EXAMPLES:
Top ten reasons why you should not use a cat as a coffee table.
Top ten reasons why you should not use a skull for a centerpiece.
Top ten things not to do while walking a tight-rope.

You have probably heard of this game; ALPHANET.

One person starts off by saying a word that starts off with the letter A (or any other pre-determinned lettter). The next person says a joining word that starts with the next letter in the alphabet. As usual if you don't answer in x amount of seconds you are out. If you can't think of a word you are out. If you say a word with the wrong letter you are out.
EXAMPLE:
Carl-- All of us are here I think.
Steve-- Billy isn't here.
Carl-- Could you go get him John.
Steve-- Did he mark down the wrong date?

Here's one to help build team-work, it is called;THREE HEADED MONSTER.

In this game there are four people involved. The people are the interviewer, and three people to represent a three-headed monster. The interviewer asks the three people a question, then the three headed monster has to answer, but each person can only say one word. The only requirement is that each word has to link to the next one, and people representing the monster have to go in order. The key is to get all the people in the group to work together in order to answer the question so that it makes sense. This is a great game for workshops and for acting companies that do not neccessarily get along with one another.
EXAMPLE:
Carl-- Have
Steve-- you
Billy-- seen
Carl-- my
Steve-- monkey
Billy-- dance.

This one I have seen all over the place, even in my speech&debate class. It is called; LUCKY CHARMS.

The director or leader of the improv group gathers things from all over the place and puts them into a bag. A person from the group has to pick an item out of the bag and then tell the group either why it is their lucky charm and why they cannot go anywhere without it, or to try to sell the item to the class. The person who wins is either the one who was most convincing or who could get the most amount of people in the class to potentially buy whatever the had picked.
EXAMPLE:
Since this is a visual type of game I cannot give an example, so take a few minutes to visualize one right now.....................................OK that should be long enough.

I used to play this one all the time when I was in a drama/improv group. We called it; CLAP ON/CLAP OFF.

Four people go up onto the stage, and start a scene determined by the audience. The other people in the group(off stage) listen to the scene and when they come up with an idea they clap, and take the place of a person on stage. The person who claps can have the option of taking the scene in a new direction or to keep it going the same way. More credit is given to the people who change the scene.
EXAMPLE:
No example neccesary.

This game is somewhat like LUCKY CHARMS. It is called; WHAT'S THAT.

To start off the instructor gets a bag of props. Then a person gets up and has to use the prop for something that it is not meant for. This is a party game so there really are not any rules. If you want rules they are as follows: If you use the object for something obvious they are out. If they cannot think of something to use it for when the person is called then they are out. The last person standing is out.

EXAMPLE:
If the object is a doorknob, they could put it to their forehead and then say that they got into a fight at the home depot.

Everybody Dance Now

You know all those annoying little games that every director/instructor loves to play on the first day. Well, bad news...this is another one. Another one of those silly name learning excercises. But there's bad dancing involved and who could argue with that. One person starts off by shouting "Do the Jeff thing."

DISCLAIMER: The name Jeff is a metaphorical construct used only to illustrate the point that a name is supposed to be used here. Therefore any likeness to any persons fictional or otherwise is purely coincidental.

At this point "Jeff" is to dance...preferably badly, then repeat what had been yelled at him (using someone else's name of course (unless he wants to dance again (if he wishes to do so we won't hold it against him (of course)))). The game continues in this way until everyone sits down.....What? Oh yeah I forgot to mention that when a person is done dancing they sit down.

Before you go it is important to note that no two people are allowed to dance in the same manner.
