Baste Commemorates Feast of St. Ezekiel Moreno

The SSC-R Community held the annual celebration of the feast of Saint Ezekiel Moreno last August 19, 2002 at the SSC-R Quadrangle by holding a concelebrated mass.


The main celebrant of the mass was Rev. Fr. Charlito A. Orobia, OAR representative from Casiciaco-Recoletos Baguio City. The Theology Deprtment started the mass with a 2nd day Novena to Saint Augustine bearing the theme "Saint Augustine, model of humility." Afterwards, Mrs. Vernadeth Cervantes, High School English teacher, accompanied by a College teacher delivered the introduction to the life of Saint Ezekiel Moreno. Mrs. Puti, a College teacher, directed the first reading and various College teachers led the succeeding parts of the mass.


Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Fornilos, High School Principal, read the Gospel and thereafter, Rev Fr. Charlito A. Orobia delivered the Homily focusing on the works and attitudes of Saint Ezekiel Moreno.


The mass ended at 9:30 in the morning and was immediately followed by the Opening of Exhibit, held at the SSC-R Ezekiel Lobby.

KADIPAN conducts Buwan ng Wika

With the theme "Wikang Filipino Tungo sa Globalisasyon," the Kadipan Club conducted a program for the Buwan ng Wika last August 21, 2002 at the college auditorium.
The program started at around 2:00 in the afternoon with an invocation led by Kharen Añonuevo followed by the National Anthem conducted by Allen Kate Sison. Mr. Bienvenido delos Santos, high school teacher, delivered the opening remarks.


Various events were held that day such as Katutubong Awit, Balagtasan, Talumpati and Tableau. Contests such as Poster-Making, Tagistalino and Essay-Writing were held prior to the said program. An intermission number from Cherry Kerr Aguilar was delivered at the middle of the program.


The judges were Mrs. Virginia Vejerano, Mrs. Bethsaida Karangalan and Mr. Ruel del Rosario. Before the announcement of winners, another number by the 4th year students was delivered. The winners were announced by Colleen Camagong, club president and were awarded by Mrs. Bethsaida Karangalan, the club adviser.
