At 03.30 on Wednesday April 30,1975 - from the White House,
President Ford gave the orders for U.S. Ambassador Martin

defending Marines left the rooftop.
The Vietnamese mob surged through the building,
held back from the top floor by riot control agents.
The Marine commander, Major Jim Kean, was on the last
helo out of Saigon and by 08.25 was safely with the Task Force.

'Frequent Wind' was over"

"IT AIN'T OVER til IT'S OVER" !!!

Making room on deck for more "fleeing" South Vietnamese piloted

Qualifications for the
VIETNAM SERVICE MEDAL
(in part):

("During this period, a military member who participated in combat
or who served with a unit
directly supporting a military operation or participating in combat
in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, or Vietnam qualified for the medal.")

That period was:

("In effect, the authorized period of military service to quality for the
Vietnam Service Medal spans 1 July 1958 through 28 March 1973.")

Mayaquez Rescue - Koh Tang Island, CAMBODIA - May 15, 1975 !!!

Did these USAF CH-53 CREWS and U.S. MARINES receive their medals
(if so, how many posthumously) ?

Are those US Military personnel who died here on CAMBODIAN soil,
listed on the

VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL WALL

in our Nation's capitol of Washington, DC ?

NEWSWEEK - April 15, 1985 !!!

and for many today -

U.S. To Ask Some 70 Nations To
Double Quotas On Refugees

(Mon. July 16, 1979 - "The REGISTER" - Orange County, California)
XXXX
WASHINGTON (AP) - The United States is going to next weekend's international refugee conference in Geneva with hope of persuading other nations to follow President Carter's example and double their quotas of homeless Indochinese. ....

The United States was taking in 7,000 refugees a month - two of every three refugees fleeing from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.

Carter's decision to double that quota will bring 168,000 refugees a year to the United States. Now, the idea is to persuade other countries to do as much, doubling their quotas from 40,000 to 80,000.

The "boat people" who make it to land - an estimated 20 to 50 percent drown - are packed in overcrowded camps in Malaysia, Thailand, and Hong Kong. ....

XXXX
Just before the Communists took Danang, there was looting, pillaging, murder and madness. In their panic to get away, soldiers elbowed past women and children to board the planes and boats that managed to evacuate 90,000 people from Danang in the hours before the city fell to the Communists. In some cases civilian refugees were killed by troops stampeding away from the enemy.

"True enough," said one Army tactician, "the Vietnamese soldiers fight with their families along, but they even deserted their families to fight their way aboard a plane or a boat."

On board the American ship Pioneer Commander, sent to Danang to take refugees to Cam Ranh, 300 miles to the south, passengers were shot or pushed overboard by soldiers trying to make room for themselves. ....

So much for "VIETNAMIZATION" !!!

These "fleeing" South Vietnamese did NOT stay and

FIGHT for THEIR

FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY

they had let

AMERICANS "FIGHT and DIE" for their LIBERTIES !!!

So this is how

"HANOI JANE" FONDA, TOM HAYDEN, JOHN KERRY,
Vietnam Veterans "AGAINST the WAR" (VVAW)

and
"others"

wanted the WAR to END !!!

This appropriate gesture is also being extended to

JOHN KERRY and his VVAW,
and to "ALL" those of the
ANTI "VIETNAM" WAR movement,

whom all

did NOT SUPPORT the US MILITARY still serving in Southeast Asia

nor support the Veterans of S.E.A.

upon their return HOME, (those who did RETURN HOME that is) !!!

VSM - Vietnam Service Medal

RVCM - Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal
(click for a description of the "RVCM" Medal)

Many Southeast Asian Conflict Veterans (S.E.A. Vets)
have "NOT" received these "hard earned" service medals
and due recognition of their service and support
(be that "In Country" or "In Theater")

in the fight for

FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY in Southeast Asia
during and up to the collapse in the Southeast Asian
countries of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia !!!

Our Nation recognizes all those who gave their all, and
paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives,
during this divisive period in America,
on those BLACK SLABS of GRANITE known as

THE VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL WALL

Perhaps Maya Ying Lin (The Wall's Creator) said it best:

Maya Ying Lin's Words (in part):

" . . . this memorial is for those who have died,

and for us to remember.
...
And I wanted the names in chronological order because
to hone the living as well as the dead
it had to be a sequence in time."
